He enrolled in Louisiana State University after finishing university, but had to drop out after a year due to the death of his father, and enrolled in the Airforce to help financially support his family.
After leaving the Airforce in 2007, he enrolled in Lincoln University to complete his undergraduate degree, and then remained in education to complete his Masters in counselling, graduating in 2011.
Employment
Following the death of his father, Wilson enlisted in The US Airforce in 1998, rising to the rank of technical sargeant, and joining the experimental EXO-7 Falcon pararescue program.
After leaving the service, Wilson trained as a counsellor, taking a job at the V.A.
Since 2014, he has been a full-time member of the Avengers, and the team's Airforce liaison.

Family Ties
He was very close to his sister when he was younger, but they rarely saw one another during his time in the Airforce, and have grown apart. However, they are still on good terms, and he makes an effort to spent time with his nephews as often as possible, and to help his sister with childcare, following the death of her husband.
Since 2016, he has been in a relationship with fellow Avenger Natasha Romanoff.
