Greysmere
Greysmere is a small dwarvish settlement set up against and even embedded inside a large rocky hill. It has strong walls for a settlement of its size and is set a bit a ways from any real danger.
Demographics
The town is almost entirely dwarf, though travelers of different races frequent the area.
Government
The town is run by a council of elder dwarves who elect a younger dwarf of reputation to lead the settlement as the Dwarf-Mayor. While the council does make laws through a vote, the Dwarf-Mayor may break ties or veto any law he chooses.
Defences
The settlement is kept safe by its stone walls, outfitted with battlements. There is a small keep embedded in the wall that can be used to safeguard civilians in the case of a seige.
Industry & Trade
Greysmere has little in the way of farming industry, save for a few dwarvish farms in area. Most of their food comes from imports from Greyhawk, which they trade their superior tools and fine jewelry for.
Infrastructure
The Dwarfwalk is a smaller road that is well kept by the dwarves of Greysmere, it is regularly covered in gravel from the nearby mines. The dwarves have a smithing quarter as well that is outfitted with good tools and bloomeries.

History
Greysmere was established several dwarvish generations ago by Garrun Proudhammer, a member of a minor clan in the Crystalmist Mountains, who was exiled by his people, he travelled and gathered other exiles from the area, and traveled to the Cairn Hills, where he and his people set up a tiny village. It grew from there to become a prosperous mining town that helped fuel Greyhawk's economy and provide military strength in times of war.
Architecture
Stone is used in the majority of the settlement, as it is cheap and effective to use as it doesn't have to be hauled from afar. Most houses in the settlement are made out of stone bricks and fitted with wooden roofs.
Geography
The town is set on the edge of a hill, because of this, there is little rooms for farming. The area collects rainwater well, so it is an ideal place to build wells. While the town itself is rather bland, the few towers and defenses on top of the hill give a good clear view of the surrounding plains and marsh.
Natural Resources
Iron and stone are gathered from nearby mines, as well as some silver and the occasional gemstone.
