Blackstone Castle

Purpose / Function

Residence and seat of the Briar of Molrick. Built to add a strong defense to the southern approach to the Duchy of Lorancourt.

Architecture

Built in the typical Dwarven style of square corners, the Keep is 40' by 60' and stands 55' tall.  30' curtain walls with 40' towers and a double gate.  Entire castle is surrounded by a moat and berm spanning 300' in diameter with a 20' stone and hedge wall atop the berm.  Access inside the berm is through a single towered gate.

Defenses

Castle and curtain wall are constructed of a strange, shiny black stone that is said to be invulnerable, even to dragon's fire. The stone was a gift from the Blackbeard Dwarves of Gorgomoth, which is the Clan that the Briar of Molrick, Crole Blackbeard, belongs to.
There is a full Company of Legionaries stationed at Blackstone, along with a full two Troops of Blackstone Guard Lancers numbering 40 knights and a Knight Commander, Lewin Holgate.
