Company of Archers
In the military forces of Imesse, archers are assembled and utilized in company-sized units. These companies are commanded by Captains with the support of Sergeants/Corporals. Typically, these companies are not mounted and move and fight solely on foot.
Composition
Manpower
A Company of Archers is 100 archers led by a Captain of Archers, with the support of a Sergeant or Corporal. Each company can be divided into 2 or more smaller units, called a Square of Archers (because of the rank-and-file formation they use in battle).
Equipment
Scale or leather armor, conical helm, multiple quivers (when possible)
Weaponry
Standardized issue of long bows, horn bows or crossbows; short sword or long dagger, possibly a pike
Vehicles
Each company is issued up to 10 wagons for equipment and supplies, as well as associated quartermaster troops for each.
Structure
Company is led by a Captain of Archers, supported by Sergeant/Corporal.
