Blackguard Regiment (blag-gard)
Duke Lomain am Lomanni has raised and trained a series of Companies that have collectively become known as the "Blackguard Regiment". Some say they are thus named for their distinctive dark armor and black cloaks but others insist it is because of the nickname that the Duke has carried for decades: Lomain the Black.
Currently, there are seven Blackguard Companies (conveniently number 1 through 7). The "1st Blackguards" are stationed at Lorancourt Castle as the primary defensive unit. Two others are stationed in the city, and another is stationed at each end of the Bridge at Lorancourt.
Composition
Manpower
Each Company is 100 armed and armored foot led by two Knight Captains with a Knight Commander in overall command. There are currently seven Companies in the Blackguard Regiment.
Equipment
Full plate armor, darkened, with visored helms and knee-length black cloaks.
Weaponry
Long sword, long knife, shield, hand axe all standard equipment, with crossbows and pole axes readily available.
Structure
The overall commander of the Blackguard Companies is Lomain, Duke of Lorancourt. Immediately under him is the Castellan of Lorancourt, Darren Feldman, who manages and administrates the training and upkeep of all seven Companies, as well as the Lorancourt Lancers.
Each Company is led by a Knight Commander and two Knight Captains.
