Dylan Boyne is the ranking member of the Boyne Guard of Nyallshold, the personal guards of the Ryuri Olan Dalnyall, Chief of the Dalnyall Clan.
Dylan is a skilled swordsman and a veteran warrior. He fought with much distinction in the Imesse - Colo War 20 years ago, and has was selected at the young age of only 25 to be a member of the elite Boyne Guard. Dylan is credited with fighting and killing Rainar am Lomanni, the brother of Duke Lomain am Lomanni and Alain am Lomanni during the Battle of Nyallshold in 212 AF.

Personal history
After the Battle of Nyallshold, where Dylan defeated and killed Rainar am Lomanni in single combat, Dylan was so impressed by the bravery and honor shown by his defeated foe that he sought out his surviving kin under a flag of truce at the border with Imesse some months later. He gave to Rainar's older brother, Alain am Lomanni, Rainar's broken sword as a token of the truth of his tale. Alain was both amazed and deeply touched by the effort made by Dylan and has never forgotten the noble act.
