Pleasance Hunter is the Sheriff of the Shire of Lumberton. Pleasance is a widow, having lost her husband Jacky Hunter, to a dragon attack 14 years ago. She has never remarried and has no children, but she has dedicated herself to success in all she does.
Her hard work, dedication and evident success at whatever she has turned her hands to has generated much rumor and speculation within the Shire. It is rumored that she slew the dragon that killed her husband, Jacky. Another story says she killed a giant short-faced bear bear herself armed only with a felling axe. What is known for certain is that she wears a bear-skin cloak all winter long that is clasped with a broach made of dragon claws and gold.
