Kikoguan
Kikoguan is the largest inland city in the Xosutan Empire. It is a walled metropolis with a population fluctuating between sixty and seventy thousand individuals. While the population is mostly human, the greatest other demographic is elven, with half elves becoming a natural runner up and members of all other species on Tirestir able to be found within the city. The city is the home to much of the ruling elite of Xosutan, with the main judicial body being held here, as well as the largest prison in the Empire. While the capital city is the primary residence of the king its location, ancient architecture, and strategic position led to many of the nobles seeking a richer lifestyle to move out to the rolling plains around Xosutan where they have constructed large mansions, palaces, and villas. In recent years there has been a motion put forth to move the capital of Xosutan to Kikoguan though many of the more conservative individuals see the loss of the historical capital as a waste, while more progressive indivudals say that the king should be close to where the majority of the government is.
Government
The city is ruled to a council of dukes and lesser nobles that partake in their courts, while these dukes do technically rule over their own individual regions of Xosutan beyond the bounds of Kikoguan, since many call this city their home, they all partake in the ongoing ruling of the city.
Defences
The city has three large concentric ring walls, each lined with tower equiped with various siege equipment, not that the city has seen a siege in many generations. The river also has six bridges spanning its length, four of these are equiped with raisable chain curtains that can stop boats easily.
Districts
The city is divided into three distinct wards each with various districts within. The Lower Ward, Upper Ward, and Temple/Kings Ward. The third ward's title is in dispute while it historically has been the temple ward with the construction of a new castle and residence for the king, the district's name has undergone some colloqual changes.
