Targoldar (TAR-goal-DAR)

Targoldar is a mountain to the northwest of Gwyllan's Watch. Its name translates to Tower of the Watch in the tongue of the Eladrin, and it was home to a large castle that stood watch over the mountain passes. In about 575 SKR, the mountain's summit grew colder and more ice-covered, and the castle was abandoned as ice covered it. A group of Adventurers sought it out, seeking to reclaim treasures that were stored there, including the flying cloak Valathorendal. Only one returned, grievously wounded and mostly mad. Before he passed, he managed to choke out, "The Lord of Bats has made it his bastion."
Since then, the mountain has become known as Aigoldar, the Tower of Ice, and the castle has become known as the Bastion of the Lord of Bats. In 1081 SKR, the Fire Wasps, seeking Valathorendal, ascended the slopes and did battle with the Lord of Bats, revealed to be the fiendish Duke Geryon. They defeated him, forcing him back to Hell. Since his defeat and removal, the castle has begun to thaw, and the castle may soon be reclaimed once more by Tavanion.
