Akina Kordev

Marchioness Akina Kordev-

The current Marchioness of Damarel is Akina Kordev, the second wife of Marquess Solomon Kordev. Like her husband, she too hails from the Gold Plains and that is where they met after a sandstorm forced them together in close-quarters for several days. Afterwards, the pair went their separate ways.   The pair would cross paths again when she found her way to Damarel and she would later marry the Marquess after he'd mourned his wife, Zelah in 986 ATS, and they would go on to have four more children, and hopefully many more to come, further securing House Kordev's succession over the East Riverlands, although it is Kordev's first-born son, Obadiah, who is positioned to be Damarel's next ruler. Akina herself has never pushed the issue of succession away from her stepson, in fact she herself seems even more adverse to the monotony of rulership than her husband does. She prefers to spend her leisure time pursuant of many arts: music, painting, calligraphy, and floristry, passing those and other passions onto her daughters then she does with the formal administrative duties of the court, though many know and have learned first-hand that she is not to be trifled with in the more subtle matters of statecraft. She is most jovial and welcoming to visitors, both common-folk and nobility alike, often taking the lead on the more lavish affairs of entertaining in the noble courts visiting Silverwing Tower and for the citizens of Damarel during important events and celebrations; she and Solomon have discovered and made themselves a powerful match in regards to whom they carry water for, she the common folk and he the soldiers, both overlapping with the circles of influence of the nobility. It is a unique pairing as couples go in the Empire.
