Kordev Family
House Kordev is another one of the Empire's older, more prominent, and stable families. They have been the overseers of Damarel for centuries and its current ruler Marquess Solomon Kordev can trace his line back to The Sundering before the empire was a thought, although his roots are from The Gold Plains where he and his people lived for centuries before migrating towards the Emerald Run.
House Kordev has always stood by the Volokens, spanning back to the First Age when they fought alongside Bartholomew himself, they were also one of the first Houses to support the newfound heir of the Eighth Emperor, Roland Voloken, behind the Phoenix of House Lanne. Though they remained loyal to the crown, what had happened in the Imperial Palace during the crowned Prince's wedding day, as they too lost their own heads of the family in the blaze, throwing their own house into a brief, yet vitriolic, disarray. The aftermath that was witnessed and reported by Kordev spies within and around Arine, never sat well with the Kordev's new successors either; all things far too convenient. It was those events that sent them eastward, back towards the deserts and Damarel as they believed the current court brought and held ill tidings, so they waited and watched, playing their role in the Arinian courts with ears pressed firmly to the ground and backs tight to every wall.
It was after the Lost Emperor Uprising of 622 ATS, when the Kordevs would be asked, once again, to reaffirm their allegiance to the true Voloken, now Volker, Emperor that stability returned to the East Riverlands after they fought on behalf of Roland Voloken's heir, Lazarus Volker. Since their, and the Empire's, founding House Kordev has expanded their bloodline, influence, and territories, directly overseeing several Salvan Houses, including the countship of House Mistvale stationed at Havenscross and the many other local bannerman that swore fealty to them and the empire. As the continent has officially traversed into the Fourth Age, the Marquess and his court have been focusing on raising his family and preparing his son, Obadiah for succession.
