Cade Cahlan is the first and only son of Baron Kasper Cahlan and the late Lady Tara Cahlan. He has heard his father's stories of a united Southern Salvae Empire since he was a babe and knows full well that he is a critical part of that reunification process. His betrothal to Raydon Besk's daughter, Olympia, has been set in stone since he was a boy and is the lynchpin for the beginning of a new marquessate being established to rule over the southern border.
