The Southern Expansion

As the power and influence of Arine and the Volker Dynasty began to expand across Kalbela many knights, soldiers, and noble houses began to form alligences and warbands to aid in that expansion and gain the spoils of war as well.   Many bands were often bogged down by the dense woodlands of the Baltos Forest and the Jade Wood or the difficult to traverse mountains of the Broken Spine and swamps, like the Bog of Fangs. But there was one band of knights that brought much of the southern lands to heel with little bloodshed, the Brotherhood of the Silver Shields led by Lord Bastion Holt.   Over the course of more than a decade and half the Brotherhood would claim territory along the south-western coasts and as far inland as where Landow would be founded more than a century later.
