Ice Troll

Ice trolls are trolls that live in the frigid north. They have horribly translucent white skin, and if you get close enough to an ice troll without getting devoured, you may see pale blood coursing beneath their skin.   Ice trolls, like Scrag, have regenerating abilities that only work when their bodies are submerged in water. As a result, their lairs are usually located near rivers or lakes.   Ice trolls usually mate in the spring and have babies in the autumn.   In comparison to other troll species, ice trolls work closely together to secure each other's survival. They are also intelligent than most troll species, preferring to employ weapons rather than their fists.   They have the same ravenous hunger and ruthless nature as their temperate-climate relatives.   Some ice trolls are known to use scale armor and mauls in battle. Rimehammer, solid ice mauls, are used by some in battle. They have been known to spew forth globs of freezing slime at their foes in the past.   They are flesh eaters, like all trolls, and will gladly eat anything, including humanoids. What distinguishes them, though, is their ability to skillfully make (and utilize) weapons and armor. They choose armor made from Remhoraz or white dragon scales.   Other races frequently use the blood of ice trolls in the creation of Frostbrand weapons and Ring of Cold Resistance.   Trolls' hearts can be removed from their bodies if their regeneration is halted. After being removed, the heart remains frozen for a long time, and when consumed, it provides a type of rejuvenation. If the heart of an ice troll is planted in the ground, it will conjure up a severe blizzard that will last only a few hours. It can also be used to make a Potion of Cold Resistance.   Some hags have been known to perform rituals on their hearts, transforming them into magical talismans with a Brown Mold-like affect.
