The Wyrm

The Third, "Spective" Layer of Reality

According to Layer Theory of Dimensional Cosmology, the Wyrm is the common name for the third layer of reality known as the Spective Layer. It falls below the Mundane & Arcane layers, and above Interesoteric & (still theoretical) Intermultiversial layer.

It is the layer of dreams and spirits, of mutable beings like spharai and qlippoth, where matter and physical space have become arbitrary and capricious.

Class III Planes

Only about 1% of known planes in the Known Universe intersect The Wyrm, designated by the Daybreak Empire scholars as Class III worlds. While life exists on lower-class planes, Class III+ planes are far more likely to beget sapient creatures, possibly suggesting dreams are an important aspect of developing sapient cognition.
