Solitas Historical Society
The Solitas Historical Society is an Atlas-based Corporation that deals in the discovery and iteration of history, it has co-sponsors from Whitecliffe and Mantle and thus that it is why it is named the Solitas Historical Society. It was a Multilateral Project that has weathered heavy sanctions, political Turmoil and institutional discord within itself. yet Despite this, they're one of the best renowned Historical Institutions in the world.
Every Huntsmen Academy in the world sources their historical literature from here at one point or another, especially ones based in Solitas. They're famous for a series of discoveries done through risky expeditions to the Fallen Kingdom of Astora, gutsy spelunking in ancient ruins and retrieval of historical artefacts and books from highly secure sights. They're popular employers of History Minded Hunters and often employ them to embark on these dangerous journeys as companion scholars or simply hired blades.
They have Universities across the world that help runs their operations that are managed by smaller-scale like-minded Orgs. They get their money through grants from the 3 main owners, Atlas, Mantle and Whitecliffe, often being competed over by the three for significance and power. The Struggle for the Society is a microcosm of the struggle across all of Atlas for control.

Headquarters
Based in Atlas City, the Grand Archivarium is a giant library where all knowledge is kept, a sort of Library of Great Alexander if you will, except not all information is just stored there, there is a subsidiary and secret site in Whitecliffe that keeps everything backed up just in case something was to go wrong or war was the start. The Great Library also is where the massive corporate office is, with various departments like the Department of Grants handling the money situation whereas the Department of Citation is in charge of keeping all of the facts well cited and straight.Cultural Significance and Impact
Obviously, such a vast educational organization with such Universe reach has incredible sway over future minds, as one of the sole powers charged with this immense responsibility, they like their shot Kingdom Atlas do their best but don't always succeed. The Historical Society is cut between 3 distinct camps, The Futurists who wish to use history to progress society and science beyond unimaginable heights. The Conservists believe that history is a precious thing that must be sheltered from wanton research and experiments just to 'greedily' eke out a bit more knowledge. Finally, the most major Camp is the Reservationists which is a more mixed and moderate approach to both, you can already guess who the two radical camps belong to. Conservists for Atlas and Futurists for Whitecliffe. The Resvationists are mainly a Legacy of Mantle Scribes who used to be learned men of the Empire back in the great war but have since then obviously shifted purpose. As such Society is often debating many topics with addendums being made either for Political or Academic purposes or a mix of both here and there. As it is such a public asset, fights are always being held over if Atlas should truly own them or not or if it should be an independent entity free of government agenda. Being so responsible for the spread of knowledge and understanding, they have been one of the driving forces of the Advent of Remnant's Age of Information, similar to our world's Age of Information spurred by the chaotic and decentralised blossoming of the Internet. Course, unlike our world, the Society has an unspoken total monopoly over the information side of the net, meaning whoever controls the society, controls information across the world and thus the trajectory of progression and politics across all societies. That's quite the monopoly, isn't it?Structure
The Headmaster is Professor Enola Simmons, a friend of Professor Ozpin in Beacon who serves as the moderating voice and leader of the society. Below her are many ranks but what you might not know is that the headmaster is a Supreme leader, their authority unanswerable, meaning whoever controls this seat hold incredible power within their hands which is why Ozpin chose Enola, a disinterested scholar who uses her position to learn more rather than control more.Ranks
