Year Five

- “So, what’s the sudden interest in my existence” -- Lexali stands quietly next to the drink table and pours them both a drink. Her previous smile gone, her face holding a serious but calm gaze. She offers Terberisa the other drink and says "I'm not sure if I trust the drink personally... could be spiked." She raises her own to her face and sniffs it before shrugging. "I've always been interested in your existence Terberisa... It's just never been of much use until now." She nods towards the edge of the crowd. "Walk with me?" - Terb nods, “Lead the way.” -- Lexali turns, leading the way quietly through the crowd. Some faceless classmates stare at her as she moves through and she meets each of their gazes before they look away and shuffle around. One might notice a soft sigh as the crowd breaks towards the edge of the room. She didn't mind if people saw them speaking, she just didn't want their words being heard. Lex leans her back into the wall, her eyes narrowing at the wardens that were passing by. "This whole thing seems rather suspicious, doesn't it?" She asks quietly, sniffing at the drink again. "The wardens went so far as to trying to grab my arm to get me to come.." - “They seem to be interested in getting every member of Tarselmoore here for something, given that my experience was similar,” Terb glances about, “and they don’t seem eager to let us leave yet.” She takes a small sip of her drink, letting Lex set the pace of the conversation. -- Lex frowns, leaning a little harder into the wall for a moment. "This whole school is fucked." Her voice growls a bit as she speaks, turning her eyes towards Terberisa. "Little birdie mentioned you've been busy unlocking secrets, Terberisa. I'm hoping you can help me with something that's been on my mind, although it might seem a little.. controversial, considering everyone seems to be avoiding the fucking conversation." Her face is still calm, but there's a fire in her eyes that wasn't there before. Anger? Or maybe just frustration. - Terb’s eyes glint with interest, as she mutters, “Little birdies need to learn to button their beaks,” and then in a more conversational tone, “but you have heard correct, are you looking for access to something I already have? Or information acquisition?” -- "Acquisition." She confirms quickly. Finally, she raises the drink to her lips and takes a small sip. Seeming content after watching the crowd and Terberisa that it probably wasn't spiked or hexed or fae'd up in some way. "I know that you have got no real interest in the Codex, and that is fine. But when it was announced that Alyxander was just... gone. Nobody seemed to be very upset about it. Not even his so called friends." Her eyes narrowed as she stared out at the crowd, falling silent as a few people passed by. Her eyes falling on some of those friends across the party, their attention seemingly drawn elsewhere. "It just seems real... suspicious." Her eyes flicker over to Terb before she takes another drink. "I end up around Kraius quite a bit because of Neodym's insistence... yet he's not even spoke Alyxander's name." - “And if I were to guess, you want to know what has happened to our dear Alyx, maybe even where he is now?” Terb concludes, finishing her drink and starting to rub her thumb along a crystal encased palm. -- Lex nods once, taking another small sip of her drink. "As sharp as ever." Her voice purrs a bit. "I know he's not dead. Because we've had that happen once this year already and it was a much different scene." - “Yes that…Buta fellow, seems like both our years little clubs have not had the most stellar years,” Terb continues rubbing at her palm, as she has an expression of someone mulling ideas over. -- Lexali doesn't respond besides a short chuff of agreement. Her eyes scanning the crowd. "Do you think you can do it?" She asked after awhile, not looking at Terberisa but still towards the crowd. Her eyes outlined each body as they moved around the room. Some dancing together under the pale blue lighting. Others hanging out near the food table. All brought together under the "protection" of a magical sphere to keep them from the war of the outside world that kept creeping in. What a nice concept it could have been. She takes another sip of her drink. - “I should be able to, are you comfortable with other people being involved in the acquisition?” -- Lex's eyes flick back over to Terberisa and she stares at her without blinking for a long moment before looking away. "If it is necessary, then it is necessary." She responds finally. "I'd prefer my name be kept out of it if it involves any of our... dear classmates. Most tend to speak without thinking. I don't need anyone knowing I'm looking for him" - “Very true, and I wouldn’t risk giving them more information than strictly needed, but I am owed favors. Many hands make light work and all that, specifically that nerd.” Terb scans the crowd, and then points out Vélo, “There’s the one.” -- "Whatever is needed from me is yours to call upon, as long as it doesn't directly corollate with my early death." Her eyes follow Terberisa's towards Velo and her eyes land softly on the dragon boy. He was smart... and maybe a little too naive. "His little birdy introduced us~" Her voice purrs, quietly revealing Hilde was ultimately the one who told her about their dealings. - “Fae bitch, but here we are, I think this shall be a beneficial agreement.” -- Lex forced her face to stay the same when Terberisa insulted Hilde. Not that Lex was overly fond of the fairy... she had just given her up alongside Velo after all. But she didn't dislike her either. She was curious what might have happened between them to warrant that, but kept her curiosity to herself. Maybe it was a Cuan side effect. Lexali quietly finished her drink and reached out her hand, offering to take Terberisa's empty cup. "If its all the same to you.. I was asking why you haven't been around for dueling club and you..." she paused, letting Terberisa finish their story just in case anyone asked why the two were suddenly talking on neutral terms. - “I have a few books that are far more interesting than dueling, but I have been missing it, maybe I try out some new things I’ve picked up” Terb seems, somewhat…. hesitant, “I suppose part of it was my behavior during the tournament was, less than stellar.” -- Lex smiles at her in quiet understanding, collecting their cups together. Her doubled fangs glinting in the blue light. "I can't wait to see what you've learned." Her voice purrs and she softly flicks her long dark hair over her shoulder.

Arguably the toughest opponent in the tournament, and I have the task of beating her in the first round. I really couldn’t ask for a better test of my skills.

“Maybe we could.. just to get them off both of our backs you know?” Lex blinked at Neodym as he spoke, the rest of the eyes in the room on them. Thirsty for drama or the satisfaction of this childish game. She sighed, brushing her hair over her shoulder as she stood up. “Is that what you want to use your favor on?” She asked him quietly, glancing at his already pink face. He nodded, seemingly surprised she was agreeing with him. Lex smiled at him. Probably the first actual smile he (or anyone else in the room) would have seen from her. Her pointed teeth glinted in the light, and she seemed almost… sinister. She walked toward Neodym, smile on her face and reached out a clawed hand towards his face, gently holding him by his chin. Smile still on her face. [ You poor boy. You know nothing of what I want. You know nothing of my feelings or of my intentions. I’m only here to use you. To use all of you. None of you are the wiser to it. Ill play along for now. If only to keep you by my side to call upon when I need something. ] She stepped closer, wrapping her arm over his shoulder and turning his face towards hers until his ear was by her lips so she had to only whisper. “Don’t let me get into your head now… You still have a long way to go, Neodym.” Her eyes wouldn’t be on him, however. She would be staring out at the small crowd in the room, smile still on her face. She kissed the side of his cheek gently before freeing him and walking away, adjusting her hair over her shoulder as she did.

Don’t waste time.
