Duke Vanthampur and Thavius Kreeg are in cahoots to overtake Baldur’s Gate. They hired the Cult of the Dead Three to sow chaos in the city and undermine the authority and reputation of the Flaming Fist. Using Tiamat’s treasure, courtesy of the Cult of the Dragon, they funded the purchase of Hellfire weapons so that every innocent soul they murder is incarnated as a devil in Hell. They are seeking to continue the Blood War of the last several centuries. We have in our possession some sort of dark magickal box which is of great import to the Duke and Kreeg. It is very likely the key to this whole mess. Thurstwell Vanthampur can attest to all this.
