Duke Klondike Talenti was Royal Guard Captain of The Roripop Kingdom from 112BM - 85BM. His skill on the battlefield, leadership skills, and unrelenting dedication won several victories for the kingdom, the most notable of which are The Roripop Revolution and Battle on the Big Bridge.

After losing his eye and hand during the Battle on the Big Bridge, Klondike retired from the the guard. Though, as time went on, he was displeased with how the next generation of the guard was being trained. Klondike came out of retirement and founded Duke Klondike's Knight Academy, a knight academy dedicated to training royal guards for generations to come. He personally taught at the academy for another 7 years before he died in 72BM at the age of 74.

General Physical Condition

Klondike, like much of the royal guard, was physically fit. After retirement, he gained a bit more weight, but remained just as strong as in his prime. Once he started training knights at the academy, he was forced to learn how to fight with his non-dominant hand. But due to decades of battle experience, he picked it up in no time.

Duke Klondike Taleni's Crystal Justice: The name of Klondike's famed sword he used once becoming Head Captain of the royal guard. It's a multicolored, candy crystal sword specially forged at a volcano off the east coast at the Matricide Sister's request; a gift for the newly esteemed captain. Despite the sword seeing many battles, it remains in pristine condition and hangs in the Head Commander's office at Duke Klondike's Knight Academy.

Duke Klondike Taleni's Shield of Heroes: Klondike's famous shield he wielded during his time as Head Captain of the royal guard. It is cracked and beaten from keeping Klondike safe over the decades. It hangs beside the Crystal Justice at the academy.

Personal history

Klondike Talenti grew up under the harsh rule of Gourmet Poppu. It was a time of poverty and war. Klondike's mother cared for him while his father was off serving as one of the kingdom's knights.

Once he turned 16, he was enrolled into the kingdom's militia and served as a low rank knight. Over the next many years, Klondike slowly crawled his way up the ranks, eventually making his way to Grand Officer by age 28. During his time serving the guard, his mother, with no one to care for her, died at age 44.

It was around this time revolution was sparking within the walls of the kingdom. Chupa Poppu and Charm Poppu, Gourmet's daughters, were planning to usurp the throne and stop their mother's reign of terror once and for all. They came to Klondike and requested his help in their revolution. At first, Klondike was conflicted. Serving the kingdom had been a part of his life for as long as he could remember, and going against everything he had worked to build, everything he fought for, was a tough decision to make. But, remembering how the system killed his parents, and the fact that he would still technically be fighting for the kingdom's future, he agreed to help. This would later be referred to as The Roripop Revolution.

Klondike played a crucial role in the revolution, leading the final assault on the castle and eventually claiming victory. His unwavering resolve & dedication during the battle didn't go unnoticed by and he was later promoted to Head Captain of the royal guard.

Klondike served another many years under the sister's rule. Eventually, his service came to an end during The Lantern Lit War's Battle on the Big Bridge, the last major battle in recent history. During this battle, Klondike lost both his eye and his right hand. Despite his vigilant fighting and leadership, the battle was lost, and shortly after, Klondike retired.

After about eight years of retirement, Klondike founded Duke Klondike's Knight Academy to train the future generations of royal guards.

Klondike died at age 74 due to a worn down body and internal wounds after decades of fighting. A service was held in his honor at the academy and his birthday is still celebrated to this day. There is a statue of him in front of the academy.

Education

Klondike's family didn't have the money for a formal education, so his mother taught him. That was all the academic education he received before he was sent off to become a knight.

While training to be a knight, he received minimal academic education but a ton of combat, planning, and fighting skills.

Employment

Served under two generations of Roripop Royalty.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Klondike was the leading cause of victory in the Roripop Revolution and many battles during both the The Frutuscore War and The Roripop Revolution. He was deemed a Duke in 86BM and founded Duke Klondike's Knight Academy in 80BM. A statue of his likeness was built in front of the academy in his honor and his birthday is still celebrated as a national holiday.

Failures & Embarrassments

While not publicly seen as a failure, Klondike blames himself for the loss at the Battle on the Big Bridge. He was critically injured and a lot of his men were killed,. He never forgave himself for that. After that day, his mood soured.

That loss is another reason he was so strict on those training to become royal guards. He wanted to prevent a loss that great from every happening again. And in the end, he succeeded for a time. There wasn't a catastrophe of that scale for a good while, until The Candy Crusade.

Motivation

Klondike was motivated by serving the kingdom and Her people, no matter the cost. After retirement, his motivations were to never let a mistake like the Battle on the Big Bridge happen again.

Social Aptitude

Klondike was a outgoing, determined fellow who thought very highly of his abilities, but not in an egotistical way. Others respected him, and he respected others. He was loud, and at times, could even be considered rowdy. But something died within him after the Battle on the Big Bridge. He saw many of his comrades killed, and nearly got killed himself. His outgoing, sociable attitude faded and he became a strict, stern, grumpy old man.

This was made apparent when teaching his royal guard class. He was overly strict, yelled a lot, and pushed the students to their limits. He cared deep down for them of course, but after everything he'd seen and experienced, he forgot how to show it.

Hands usually behind his back, like he was at attention. He almost always wore his guard uniform when out and about.
