History of the Varolian

The last major offensive pushed by Praelos in their unending war. The battle lasted for almost a week, and many thousands died. Amongst the dead were the Queen of Chyreum and both Monarchs of Praelos.

With eldritch secrets and incredible power, a cult worshipping some form of corrupted phoenix opened a portal to The Underworld itself, unleashing hordes of demons and unspeakable horrors upon the people of Pylona.   Yet this disaster was short-lived in comparison to many of its kind; after a few hours of chaos, the city was bathed in golden light that destroyed demon, cultist, and portal alike, ending the threat as suddenly as it had began.

Acidon is assaulted by endless waves of demons that burn most of the city to the ground. During this time, Corvus Mors sets loose a cabal of his spawn to cause havoc.   Together with The Champions, The Exotics put an end to all threats, save the city, and recruit Penelope.

Following a threat made during Chyreum's Festival of Change at the beginning of Summer, a man named Fearghal lead an army of slaves, criminals, and gladiators to the Colosseum to do battle with the Allagi Queens, The Champions, and The Exotics.   The Colosseum took heavy damage during the battle and Fearghal was said to have been defeated, though he was able to walk out of the city with his new army without further incident.

Planned in secret and organised at the last moments, mages from across The Republic were recruited to stage an assault on the island home of The Menagerie in an attempt to reclaim dangerous magical items.   Not only did the objective fail, but it came to light that Fearghal had launched a near simultaneous attack on The Sanctuary of Knowledge, and was more successful in his goals.

Following the unearthing of cultists underneath Katarn and the discovery of Senator's garb upon one of the evildoers, Consul Periphetes put out a summons for the entire Senate to present themselves to The Mirror Of Revelation.   Four senators did not arrive, placing a great deal of suspicion upon them all. After the news came out of potential traitors, Consuls from other Regions began requesting The Mirror to do their own investigations.

In preparation for The Menagerie coming to claim their ultimate prize near The Planeswalker's Home, High Lord Asterion Kóros begins organising an army of some of the best and most loyal mages in The Republic, turning the City of Seers into a great war camp.

A group of fire giants serving a being known as Prophet King Itgan climb across the mountains of Kosí, attacking several small cities on the way. In particular, the city of Varkos is burned to the ground while The Exotics manage to keep many of Varkos' citizens safe with illusion magic.

While The Maestro rips Katarn's political powers apart, the mercenaries in the city all at once begin to assault its civilians and priests, causing chaos throughout the city and preventing any aid from reaching The Senate.
