Aeleone
The continent of Aeleone lies far to the west of Rigda, similarly situated above the equator, the giant plateau rises up out of the ocean. Nearly the entire continent is bordered by sheer cliffs rising hundreds of feet into the air, At irregular intervals along the cliff-face, waterfalls topple over the edge to cascade down to the rock filled oceans below. The currents and eddies around the coast of Aeleone prevent all but the most brave, or perhaps foolhardy, of captains from daring to sail even remotely close for fear of having their vessels smashed to pieces.
The surface of this vast mesa is utterly devoid of trees, and almost completely devoid of anything at all. It is a flat, barren wasteland that stretches from coast to coast, with only small clusters of life nestled along the the many spring fed rivers that flow over the surface. The Eldar, one of the few native races on Duende, have built two major cities along the coast, one of the far east and one to the south, both resting on the continental edge where rivers exit into the ocean.
An immense scar is cuts north and south through the middle of the continent, not quite stretching from coast to coast. Those who have had the luck to visit it describe it as a breathtaking vision unlike any they have ever seen. The ragged cliffs drop down as far as the eye can see, disappearing into the mists of a thousand waterfalls that spill over the sheer white cliffs. The cliffs themselves sparkle in the sunlight as water and vast mineral veins reflect the sunlight in an ever changing rainbow of spectacular beauty.
It is here in the seeming continental wound that the Eldari have made their capital city of Indrani, carving it directly into the faces of the cliff and spanning the chasm with delicate looking stone bridges that crisscross back and forth. Outsiders are not allowed into the capital, so know one can say for sure, but there are rumors that far below, beyond where the eye can see from the surface, is a vast subterranean forest as lush as the surface is bare.
