Þígis is the provincial capital of Þígis, the southern province of the Kingdom of Núrak in western Adynía. It's an important link in the route connecting the kingdom's capital of Tarúvil to the northwest on one hand and the contested province of Velúsía to the east on the other.
The city is famed for its myriad sculptures and reliefs depicting animals of all kinds, such as serpents, horses, turtles and especially hunting dogs, the latter which also adorn nearby crossroads, bridges and the edges of major roads to chase away evil spirits and wild beasts that would otherwise plague travelers. Statues of mythical creatures are found there as well, particularly around major temples and mansions.
While some of the sculptures are made of wood or terracotta, the vast majority are carved from fine Þúralic marble, obtained near the town of Þúralen to the south.

Demographics

Arþólen is home to the largest and most vibrant community of Þígeans within the kingdom's hinterland, who are descendants of Larúneans who fled to Núrak after their ancient home of Larúnas was destroyed by Dragons centuries ago. They represent many of Arþólen's most renowned sculptors and painters in recent centuries, often combining núrakic styles with traditional þígean motifs or vice versa.

Geography

The city is located upon the upper Nanave River in the northeastern part of the province, not far from Darave Falls.
