Colossus of Anúvil

The Colossus of Anúvil is an enormous statue of the goddess Kíþó in Úrillía, a province in northern Kingdom of Núrak. The statue is protected from the elements by a niche, both carved into a cliff face overlooking the city of New Anúvil, depicting the goddess standing with a sickle in her right hand, sheaf of oats in the left and a serpent by her feet.
The statue was originally painted in bright colours, which have now long since faded away.
Construction of the colossus began in 775 a. Paþ to commemorate a decisive victory of the núrakic army against Pérgal -one of the successor states of the Paþarían Empire- after much of the latter's force defected when an eclipse occurred. Since the generals had given offerings to Kíþó the night before the battle, the event was attributed to the goddess and thus it was decided that the monument should depict her.
The area around the statue is now a site for festivals in Kíþó's honour, especially after the oat harvest when the story is told via theatrical performance and a mock-battle.
