Kitsune

The shapeshifting fox race, kitsune are a tricksy and prank loving people. Having a curious nature similar to the amurrun, the kitsune race also (sometimes unfortunately) have the magical capacity to push the boundaries of the Weave. With their ability to assume the form of another, as well as that of a fox, they are very capable of getting into some hijinks. Being relatively quick in thought, they make for fantastic consmen or bards. A society of kitsune is often a magical place, the race more connected to the feywild then they are of their fellow beastfolk. Like fey, they have their own personal quirks that can quickly flatter them or set them off. However, as history would prove to the foxfolk, some kitsune of the world would need to change to survive devastating conflict.   Kitsune have a foul history with the Saetori race. Once a peaceful people within Wom'lai, the Wrekuinao would begin their conquest of the land. At the time, the kitsune people were prolific. Wom'lai was an continent of many countries, realms of kitsune having been quite common. The Saetori people formed an army within the northern reaches of the continent. Using their natural flight, ability to lead others, and their organization, they took the continent by storm. In the formation of the Wrekuinao Dynasty, there were many that fought back. The kitsune were one of the races that pushed back the most, most opposed to the rigid structures of the Wrekuinaun Saetori. As history shows though, they were pushed from the continent, forced to flee across the sea to what is now the Teobik Trust and Sacriel.   Kitsune are now naught much but slaves within the Wrekuinao Dynasty. While some remnant of villages still exist there, such as Hankala, most prefer to disguise themselves within society as another race. Within the Teobik Trust, the Delmist family of Kitsune would form something similar to the Wrekuinao family, creating a nation that existed diametrically opposed to their conquest. Within the continent of Sacriel are where the remnants of what once existed of the Wom'lai kitsune. Not nearly as fanciful, they've adopted to the rich land and its plutocratic structure. Where you'll find kitsune in their most base form are within the everchanging jungles of Eoyecuan, these wild foxfolk the closest to their fey origin.   Kitsune are a varied race of people, though they tend towards to more chaotic side of things. Common followers of the The Serpent of Creation and The Lord of Passion, kitsune tend to put religion in the back of their minds for their personal interests. They are an individualistic people that keep very tight knit families and communities, quite like elves. To do harm to one kitsune will invoke the wrath of the rest of its close associates, and they will come up with creative ways to pay you back twicefold.

Anatomy

Kitsune are slender vulpine humanoids with digitigrade legs and four digit paw-like hands. They have a sleek and slender tail, and come in a wide variety of colors. Attuned to The Weave in a way few other races can compare, their magical preference often has a hand in their coats. Of course, regional varieties exist. Kitsune of Eoyecuan tend towards green, to match with the shade of the woods. Some Polaris kitsune are rumored to exist with pelts as white as snow. The magical school they specialize in however gives the kitsune race some unique markings amongst their fur. Necromancy often comes with black tendrils, evocation with red firey patterns. Kitsune are very light creatures, rarely weighing more than 150lbs. Their slender builds make them slightly taller than most races, averaging out around 6"1.
