Gamgoo River

Urdruanwa

The Gamgoo River is a river in the western regions of Lhakamed, flowing out of the Areian Peaks west into the Cota Ocean. Originating from merging tributaries deep in the Bura'a Valley, the river run out of Bura'a into the grassland plains and valleys of the Cavean Union. Despite the upper rivers rocky rapids, the river slows, meandering through the lowlands and finally dispersing into a forested wetland as it nears the coast. Even with the dry nature of western Anbar, the river remains vibrant throughout the year. This is due to the frequent rainfall in the western mountains, especially near Akavia's Peak and throughout the Bura'a Valley.

To the Orc of Bura'a Valley, the river is Urdruanwa, the 'gift of death'. The rapids of their river are dangerous, often unmanageable. The valley's incline makes the river swift. Its course overgrown and littered with boulders. The heavy rains, and shadows of the tree canopies, make the riverbanks ripe for mosses, and slick algae, that can send even an experienced ranger sliding into the deadly waters. Bridges cross over the river in many places throughout the valley. Made of bones and stone, these bridges can be as intimidating as the churning waters below them.

On the western end, where the river meets the sea, it divides, spreading into a forested delta. The main river continues on the north side of this delta, while the southern branch, the Lesser Gamgoo moves through on often misty valley on its south side. These wetlands have been tamed by the Cavea of Ashara that sits on the coast. The flora and fauna farmed by the citizens of the city.
