Kusran's Forest

the New Karasaanu

Even before his rise to king of Zalpula, Kusran had a dream of bringing back Karasaanu after the great forest of the west was lost during Dragonfall. He made it the goal of his kingdom to see this dream a reality. Many among his people thought it a useless endeavor, for it was not only the forest and elf cities that burned, but the world and the Anon (Magic) as well. It wasn't until the first Umu Tree grew in what today is known as the Simmer Wood did the Elf faith return. The strongest among them, from across Ethae, came together to return Karasaanu to glory. Slowly the forest grew south beyond the mountains, and New Karasaanu was born. At its height it reach to the edge of the sands of the Amber Wastes.

The forest was severely burned by Anthealglas the Ever Hungry in 3705sc when the Dragon attacked Zalpula. Though the city of Kusraddo in its heart was destroyed, the forest itself survived and regrew once more. This was in no small part thanks to the efforts of Kusran's daughter Mari Locnehta, who dedicated much of her reign in preserving her father's legacy and the elven way of life.
