Mercer Nightclaw is a rakshasa in disguise who runs the East Freydin Mercantile Company from its home base in Marblecleft Landing. He and his wife Melissa were found out by the Antiheroes during their visit to Marblecleft Landing, and the Nightclaws subsequently attempted to prevent them from escaping the harbor. When this attempt failed, Mercer pursued the antiheroes to Kamekame Island. Mercer posed as Harmony's friend Siaal and kidnapped her back to their ship, the Bronze Wyrm. The antiheroes rushed to Harmony's aid and killed Mercer, sending him back to the Nine Hells until he can marshal his resources to return to Alen'dal someday.

History

The Nightclaws came to Alen'dal from the lower planes together many years ago, and have since carved out a prominent position for themselves in Marblecleft Landing in the The Kingdom of Freydin as the co-founders of the prosperous East Freydin Mercantile Company. Since Mercer's death at the hands of Mara Stormwind, Melissa has been solely responsible for running the company.
