Dragonkind

A dragon is a magical creature in the World of Ancient Power. They live on Earth. While most people believe they are creatures of folklore of multiple cultures worldwide, this legendary sub-species is considered to be legendary.   Dragons are split into two camps. These two camps are made of Western/European Dragons and Asian/Eastern Dragons.   Beliefs about dragons vary considerably throughout regions/between both camps. Dragons, in general, may be bigger than other mystical species. But the two camps do differ in their belief in dragons. In the Western Camp, Dragons are seen as feared (because dangerous!) and hoarders. They love shiny things. They love guarding shiny things. And because they often would destroy human settlements, most people showed them great respect. And their power is quite well-known. They caused what modern people would call third-degree burns. And many would only approach with reverence, respect, honor, and love between creatures of Nature.   In the Eastern Camp, they are often seen as spiritual beings AKA Elemental/Celestial Beings whose existence benefited humans instead of harmed them. Many of these Dragons are of the Four Elements (Fire, Water, Air, and Earth) If there was a fifth elemental, it would be Spirit or Celestial.

Western/European Dragons

European Dragons are considered “Principles of Evil” or “Great Beings serving Darkness”. These magnificently large beasts are best described as having the body of a large serpent, able to breathe fire from their mouths, large wings, horned, and sharp talons as additional attacking power. Dragons are highly-intelligent.   European tales are often filled with people braving mysterious places to find them. Dragons often lived in mountains, caverns (including deep earthly caverns, and abandoned places like castles, volcanos, and deep in the forest (mostly in caves at this). Most mountains were craggy and the caves dark.   Due to this, some were almost impossible to find.   What do western dragons symbolize?   Dragons are symbols! Whether they are Western or Eastern, they symbolize something! The exact answer is that all dragons symbolize power, strength, evil, intelligence and protection. They also are great animals for battle!   Dragons are both solitary beings and extroverted. Mostly solitary animals. Groups of dragons are called thunder.

Eastern/Asian Dragons

Dragons in Asia are wingless, four-legged, serpentine creatures. Almost like snakes. But not quite. Most dragons are Elemental/Celestial Beings whose existence benefited humans instead of harmed them. Many of these Dragons are of the Four Elements (Fire, Water, Air, and Earth) If there was a fifth elemental, it would be Spirit or Celestial. And although sub-elements exist, magical ones would also become popular.   This means that Eastern Dragons are more symbolic than Western counterparts.   The Eastern dragons symbolize more abstract things. Not just the Elements. And sometimes they are holiday symbols.   Western Dragons are more connected to the Nature around them while the Eastern Dragons are Nature Incarnate. Or Emotion/Holiday Incarnate.   Many of them probably live in hidden sanctuaries or even a heavenly place (similar to Mount Olympus or Heaven).   Dragons are both solitary beings and extroverted. Mostly solitary animals.
