The Cavern of Great Christmas Crystals
The Cavern of the Great Christmas Crystals is a natural cavern discovered by The Legendary Guardians of Childhood aftter the creation of Santa's Toy Workshop Compound.
While it may have been there prior, nobody knew about it.
After making this cavern sacred, Nicholas uses Ancient Power to bless two crystals. This marks this site not only as sacred to Christmas but also makes this Christmastide Valley's power supply station for the Christmas Realm and Santa’s Christmas Eve Flight.
Since it began as a power supply station in 350CE, it has supplied power to the realm for many years and shall for years to come.
Cavern Description
The entrance is 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide. The entrance is magnificent, even from a distance. Although guarded by Yetis and Christmas Beings, certain people (see below) have access to the inside chamber often called the Room of True Believers AKA Crystal Room.
People travel down the walkway to the entrance of the Crystal Room. There, a magical spell prevents those who wish to harm Santa Claus and The Mission of Noel. Somebody has to “turn off the alarm” in order to gain access into this room where two crystals are seen on pedestals. Above them, a chimney allows Christmas Spirit to enter so each crystal can be “fed” when someone acts in a manner befitting the Spirit.
Imagine the article cover covered in snow with only Evergreens nearby and two Yetis gaurding the entrance.
Crystals in the Cavern
The two crystals are from the giant Metaninaite Crystal of Ancient Power which appeared on Earth long ago.
These two were saved for The Gift-Giver, Santa Claus. These crystals were given to him by Father Time and Mother Nature. It was Nicholas, with some help from the council, who turned each piece into one of the symbols of Christmas. The symbols used were the dove and a Christmas Wreath. The crystals hold great power. They need extra protection.
Therefore, The Yeti Christmas Clan were given the title as Great Christmas Crystal Protectors and normally protect the entrance granting passage to those on the list.
Every six hours, Yetis switch places. And Santa allows them time off in the least busy time of the year. Yetis are also off from the Winter Solstice until the day after Christmas. Except when they help with lifting the sack.
It is during these times that Santa’s Reindeer and Santa’s Elves help the Yetis. There are days where Mrs. Claus even help! But this is rare around Christmas.
Access to Cavern
Those who have access are few and only includes members of both the Guardians of Childhood and Great Christmas Parliament. These people are on “The List of Cavern Access” due to their place in government. And yet all have become really good friends.
Cavern as Secured Location
The Cavern of Great Christmas Crystals is one location considered to be of vital importance {to Christmas Magic} and cannot legally exist on maps or in official documents due to its' purpose.
Most elves aren’t allowed in. But they are allowed at the entrance. As Santa’s Helpers, many come to guard when not busy or to be with Yetis, so they interact with people. If people stumble on it, the Yetis and the residents are truthful in their words.
