Nisián archipelago

Geography

The Nisián archipelago lis right in the Nisian sea and streaches from east Fasach to western shores of the Agrios Wildlands

Climate

The Climate of the archipleago varies from island to island but it mostly resembles that of Greece and the meditarainian sea, being mostly dry and arid. Because of the closeness of the islands the weather is quite mild compared to that of the open ocean and the mild breeze keeps the islands cool during the heat of summer.

Fauna & Flora

The majority of islands are populated mostly by grasses, shrubs and small pine trees although this may vary from island to island. There are also an abundance of citrus, kork and olive trees that thrive in the dry climate. The sea around the islands are ritch in nutriance and are home to great reefs, kelp forests and tons of fish and other marine life. Seals and Ichtyosaurs are common sights. Mosasaurs used to be common but they have been hunted to near extiction by the locals. In the skies above fly many different species of sea birds and Pterosaurs, Ramphorychus is an ecpecially common sight on many islands. One must also keep an eye out for wyverns and harpies as these can be quite dangerous even to a large group of sailors.    On the islands themselves you can find many indemic species of mammals and reptiles seen nowhere else in the world. Large flighless birds, wild goats, deer, buffaloo, boars as well as bears, foxes and even Lions are not uncommon on most islands. There is also a population of dwarf elephants and wooly rhino that has taken refuge on the islands.

Natural Resources

Most of the islands natural resourcess come from either the sea or from the coltivation fo different crops found on the various islands.

History

The Archipelago used to be quite sparcely populated and only some islands had major settlements. This changed when the Merew empire invaded the islands. Because of the islands central location and strong trade network the Islands quickly grew in status. When the Empire later fell ca 100 years ago The archipelago became independant and is currentlo the leading economic force in the known world.
