Howlpeak

A single sharp, snow-capped mountain pierces the fog of the Haunted Realm, east of the valley's center. Howlpeak is named for the eerie wailing sounds it produces as the wind whisks past its summit. Once in a rare while, a report surfaces of a large flying monster circling the mountain. Some believe that this monster is responsible for the melancholic howl.
At the end of 2023-05-13 Vampire in Greyhaven, a group of adventurers climbed the zigzagging stairway starting at the Ancient Laboratory and arrived on a platform near the top of Howlpeak's summit. In the center of the platform was a large brazier-like pedestal with four thin tines reaching upward. The pedestal had a combination of complicated alien runes and a geared mechanism, but had no apparent method of operation. Five fragments of the pedestal were broken off and missing.

Howlpeak Keys

During 2023-05-20 The Wandering Village, a group of adventurers spoke to Obbleville, who told them that five powerful entities throughout the Haunted Realm gathered on Howlpeak to each take a piece of the pedestal. According to the witch doctor who led this meeting, this would help preserve the Realm, a goal which each participant had personal interest in.
The five keys were gathered throughout several missions. During 2023-10-14 Rest in Peace, adventurers reassembled the pedestal, which materialized the Orb of Preservation and summoned Grathaliar the banshee dragon. They teleported the Orb away, destroying The Haunted Realm.
The five Howlpeak keys were held by:

• Ghoul King Orvald in The Haunted Castle
• Muverel Stockland, a vampire in Greyhaven
• Obbleville, a moving oblex village
• Lord Phiramet, the mummy emperor of Ghaztyut
• Witch Doctor Jha'kri, the shaman of The Umbral Bayou
