Argil, Founder of New Keeleon

Orc City Builder, Son of Alena

Argil, Founder of New Keeleon, also known as Argil, son of Corthag, was a historic orc member of the Queendom of Keeleon royal family during the early Fifth Age. He was the son of Queen Alena and went on to found the city of New Keeleon.

Biography

After the old capital, Keeleon Castle, was lost to corruption and could not be reclaimed, a new settlement was formed in its stead by Argil on the banks of the Rexun River.   The Breakwater Keep started construction early in the city's history at Argil's orders. After it was completed, it became the seat of government for the city.   New Keeleon quickly blossomed due to the resources of the region that previously fueled the castle, and it grew into the northern power point of the Queendom of Keeleon's influence.

Character Information

Legacy

  • Argil and his close friend Maddison were instrumental in the founding of New Keeleon and the construction of the Breakwater Keep in the early Fifth Age. Argil's Gate at the north of the city takes its name from him.
  • A large woven tapestry hangs in the Nalt Oknar's council chamber in the Breakwater Keep, which depicts King Zolar, Queen Alena, and Argil.
  • The Fifth Age painting "Tor Mimba, Tarteria", by Tolkk, son of Gahn, depicts Queen Alena and Argil. The representation of Argil, though young, shares a resemblance to Grupe, the Monster Hunter.
