Corruption of the Elves

Through dark magic, The Adversary corrupted elves and made the Orcs, the Goblins, the Hobgoblins, and all those who dwell in the dark places in the forests, mountains, swamps, and hills.

Watching the growth of the Dwarves and the Elves, the Adversary grew angry and jealous that he was left out of the claiming of the land. Through dark magic, he drew some of the elves away from Corellon and into his grasp. From these corrupted souls, he made the Orcs, the Goblins, the Hobgoblins, and all those who dwell in the dark places in the forests, mountains, swamps, and hills. And as their numbers grew, so did their hate for the Elves and the Dwarves.
