Valês' Anvil

A vast desert that lies to the east of the Sacred Demesne of the Faith Militant. Its dangers are many, but so are its riches, especially in the mountains that border the eastern edge of this waste. Most of the sparse inhabitants of the region cluster on the banks of the River Mother, but hardy bands of Dhamin roam the Anvil, moving between oases and other patches of green. There are rumors of a rich, green land in the middle of the desert, fat with milk and honey, but no one has ever come back from searching for it. Many say it's just a myth. Others say it's being protected by the nomads of the region.

Geography

The Anvil is mainly rocky stone plateaus; sand seas – large areas covered with sand dunes form only a minor part, but many of the sand dunes are over 590 feet high. Wind or rare rainfall shape the desert features: sand dunes, dune fields, sand seas, stone plateaus, gravel plains, dry valleys, dry lakes, and salt flats.
