The Riverlands

A curious land, The Riverlands follow the The Faith Militant, but they're not part of the Sacred Demesne of the Faith Militant. In fact, they actively oppose the human-chauvinistic and intolerant views of Cymric Bales IX, placing the Riverlands in a precarious spot. While it shelters refugees fleeing persecution in the lands of the Sacred Demesne, it also can't attract the ire of the Church too directly lest it lose its independence. Lord Dustyn dy Guile balances on the edge of a sword, making sure the resources the Demesne demands keep flowing, but not keeping enough for his own forces that he could not be swallowed with ease. As long as the status quo remains useful to all parties, it remains.
