Steve Rogers
Captain Steve Grant Rogers (a.k.a. Captain America)
Born to Sarah and Joeseph Rogers, Steve grew up in Brooklyn, New York with Bucky Barnes(James Rogers ). His father died in WWI before Steve met him. Sarah, as a nurse, raised ad cared for Steve with the help of the Barnes family.
Sarah Rogers died in 1936 of TB due to her job (Steve was 18).
In 1942, Bucky was drafted but due to his ailments, Steve was rejected repeatedly until he met Abraham Erskin in 1943 at a Stark Expo. Together with Howard Stark, Steve was given a super Soldier Serum that enhanced all qualities of him. During this event, Erskin was shot by an undercover HYDRA agent.
Initially, Steve went on Tour to sell bonds to help in the War effort until Bucky was captured. He then single-handedly rescued all POWs and destroyed that base. Following that mission, he created the Howling Commandoes with soldiers he'd rescued.
In December of 1944, Bucky fell from a moving train and was believed to be dead. Seeral weeks later, Steve flew a ship called the Valkyrie into the Arctic to save New York from its payload.
He remained in frozen suspended animation until located in the 2000s.

He began as a very ill young adult. He picked fights with anyone he saw as a bully to prove a point, only really winning when Bucky stepped in.
He continues to think of himself as a bully-fighter, better equipped now that he is stronger. This core belief remains.
WHen he awakens in 2008, he has lost his entire world and now must cope with that. The only familiar face is a not-dead brother, Bucky, who barely remembers him and has been through his own trauma.

Steve blames himself for Bucky's fall of the train. HYDRA used Steve's death to break Bucky further. Bucky is nearby when Steve awakens in the new timeline
