In 1992, following Howard's Death, she reconnected with Tony Stark and began to assist him in dealing with Obadiah Stane.
She found out about James Rogers and creates his new identity before retiring in 1993. She continued to use her remaining contacts to assist her godson as he tries to continue the work Col Phillips, Howard and Peggy started towards making the world safer.
Angie dies in the Attack on the Twin Towers in 2001
Peggy's Alzheimer's became apparent in 2007 and she was sent to live in a care facility near the Falsworth estate and her daughter. Maria Stark visits a lot.

Personal history
Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" Carter was born in UK in 1921 to Harrison and Amanda Carter. Her older brother, Michael, was her closest friend until he died at the beginning of WWII. This prompted Peggy to enter active service, against her mother's and fiance's wishes. Before his death, Michael had recommended her for fieldwork, believing her to be the adventurous, intelligent agent they needed. Her fiance and parents disagreed. The marriage was called off and she began work at MI5, soon to be loaned to the Strategic Scientific Reserve. Her brother left a wife pregnant upon his death. Peggy's parents raised Peggy's nephew after his mother died in childbirth. He has one child, Sharon Carter
Peggy would later befriend Steve Rogers who became Captain America. She was part of the intelligence behind the Howling Commandoes until the end of the war.
After the war, together with Howard Stark and Chester Philips, she created what would become SHIELD. She also met and fell in love with Angela Martinelli. However, she was afraid of what it would mean to get involved with a woman and became the lover of another friend, Daniel Stuart. By the time she'd realized her mistake and returned to Angie, she was pregnant. She gave birth to twins; Alistaire Stuart and Allysandra Batroc. Peggy, Angie and Daniel raised them together. Alistaire has 3 children and Allysandra has 2 children.
