Þelæ
Þelic/Þrínic: Þelæ /θɛːlaiː/
Öþranic: Þelæ Ærk /θɛlaiː aiːɹkh/
Gúhic/Gújic: Þelæ /θelø/
Mjúltic: Þili Irĥ /θ̼ɪl̥ɪ ɪʁx/
Númric: Jötor Þilía /jœthɔːr θɪːlija/
Þelæ is a republic on the Þnisic coast in southeastern Ójom, located between Terúk to the southwest and Nóbralúk to the north. Its capital is the city of Irhar to the east.
It's the smallest goblin country in Jælondis and a middle power in the Narúrt region that has maintained a close relationship with Terúk, including a defense pact, ever since the latter aided the Þelæans in gaining independence from Nóbralúk decades ago. Most of Þelæ's economy is centered on agriculture, fishing, seaweed- and hippocampus farming, refinement of magic crystals for industrial use, and tourism to some extent.
Jöportar covers the southwestern part of Þelæ along the border with Terúk, centered around the city of Örör. The locals have long considered themselves closer to the terúkans than other þelæans, though this has rarely caused much alarm to the government as the independence movement remains fractured about the future of the province. Some advocate for greater autonomy, others want an independent country, and some few wish to become a part of Terúk, with the lattermost option being unpopular among most terúkans, as they see the people of Jöportar more as þelæans than one of their own.
Nikíxortar covers the northwestern part of Þelæ, centered on the city of Æhlert, and is notable for being where the þelæan retriever -one of Borgalor's most popular dog breeds- originates, as well as the home to a number of different varieties of Giant Rats. The latter include the long-haired variety, originally kept as pets by the aristocracy in southern Narúrt.
Þratarortar covers the coast of Þelæ to the east, centered around the capital of Irhar. The region is particularly associated with a lavish festival held during the day before and after full moon at the height of summer, during which buildings are adorned with garlands and the locals celebrate by feasting, performing ancient dances and songs to honour Halræ, god of wealth and livestock. Sheep and giant rats are given extra fodder and treats during this time as well.
