Imperator Mislith Nirrus (a.k.a. The Lady Unconquerable)
"...can nothing be done? That woman's very existence humiliates me! I hear how the highborn speak about me behind my back - they call me 'Second Choice' and 'The Backup Plan'. As if I wasn't chosen by The Dominator!"
"I'm...sorry, sire. But, I'm afraid not..."
"I do not like to be refused, Akitame."
"S-Sire, please! You are, of course, the divine vessel of The Dominator, that cannot be disputed, surely! Her agent upon the mortal world, yes!"
"So you say. And yet, the existence of The Imperator calls my divine authority into question!"
"You must tread carefully, sire. Your position - no, the position of our entire Imperium - is tenuous, now. You must project strength, now more than ever - the people must see a united throne if they are ever to believe that we can rule ourselves in her absence. I know her existence weighs heavily upon you - but you must think rationally about this. There exists no assassin upon this planet that could kill her - much less kill her subtly...i-if I may, sire-"
"...speak, Akitame."
"T-Thank you. If I could be so bold - she herself has made it clear she has little interest in the title. On top of that, she has little interest in politics."
"Get to the point, Akitame. All this, I know already."
"Y-Yes. Well...I believe that the issues you face now - the questions to your authority - have arisen because the people are confused. This is a new time for all of us, Sire - our great Kitsune Queen has left us, and declared her divine vessel to rule in her stead. Yet, the people are unclear what this means - so, I say, perhaps...the best solution is to do nothing. Do your duties. Prove yourself Emperor, a successful one, and let your actions clear the confusion of your people. Teach them what it means to be appointed by God through your actions, through your leadership! The Imperator, while mighty, is unsuited for your role - and she knows it as well as us. She, the protector and you, the leader - two envoys of God, each with a role to play. Could that not be so? Would two agents of our beloved Dominator be a great blessing in this time of strife?"
".............as always, you speak with wisdom. Fine, yes...perhaps I was too hasty. Better to save our schemes for true threats to the throne, for now. Dominator knows we have enough of those."
"Oh, thank you sire! You are most wise!"
"Mmm. Still, though - look into the history of these 'Rune Giants'. I want to be ready if the time comes to destroy her." — A conversation between Yamamoto Moritomo, Emperor of
The Inaran Imperium, and his advisor Akitame the Red
Physical Description
Being one of the fabled and mythical Rune Giants, Mislith is a Charcoal-skinned titan of rough and savage appearance such that her gender is not readily apparent - her physicality more akin to a giant, rough hewn slab of onyx or granite than a living form. Her physicality muscular and mighty, her muscles are always visible and bulging beneath the magical runes that decorate her skin. She is immensely strong and just as durable, and is capable of surprising agility despite her enormous size such that she is capable of picking up delicate objects with nothing but her feet and transferring them into her hands with little issue - an incredibly impressive feat for a True Giant such as herself. True to her nature as an overwhelmingly powerful Rune Giant, she is in perfect physical health and has no illnesses or afflictions.
Mislith is overall a fantastical sight to behold - a towering titaness with skin the tone of the blackest charcoal, her hair is a bright fiery red while her body is covered in magical runes that glow and pulse with multicolored magical energy.
Overall she cuts quite a masculine appearance - outside of more form-fitting attire it is often hard for many to tell whether she is a man or a woman; though such mistakes rarely bother her, as she seems to care little for the trappings of her own gender.
Her face is craggy and sharp, like a great boulder carved from onyx, granite, or blackish, burnished metal. Despite this and her unsettling pure red eyes that lack pupils, she has a savage, androgynous beauty that many cannot deny, though she does look quite ferocious to almost everyone who lays eyes upon her due to the countless scars and magical runes that mar her flesh.
No feature is more identifiable than her towering size nor the swirling, intricate runic tattoos that cover her charcoal skin, both proof positive of her Rune Giant heritage. Likewise, her bright red hair is a sign of her people's speculated origins from Taiga Giants, and her solid red eyes are another unsettling, if very identifiable feature of hers.
Being one of the mythical Rune Giants, Mislith has such an innate and monstrous size and strength that she can flatten buildings and villages as well as she can utterly obliterate man-sized foes...and this strength is only augmented further by her innate spell-like abilities and her command over other giants...she is quite capable of bending the minds of others to her will, especially those of giants, and can not only walk on the very air itself but can also see the unseen like none but a Demigoddess could, with sight that sees all, even the invisible and the hidden.
Finally, the runes that decorate her muscular and powerful body are not simply for show, and grant her absolute immunity to the elements, washing off fire, cold, and even electricity from her charcoal skin like harmless water...additionally, these runes retaliate against her foes when she utilizes her innate magical abilities, blasting them with a wave of overwhelming elemental force to blind them or burn and electrify them as she desires.
When not dressed for her many duties of war and combat, she dresses in beautifully made but practical clothes and robes that are gorgeously inlaid with precious metals, gemstones, and other decorations but are belied by a thin layer of armor plating beneath them, giving their beauty a tangible purpose. She shirks the wearing of ostentatious jewelry or other gaudy ornaments on her person, and settles for wearing the symbols of her office when they are required of her.
When suited up in her full Panoply of War, Mislith is a truly terrifying demigoddess that strides tall amongst the fields of corpses left in her wake. She wears a mastercrafted set of shining gold full plate armor crafted from a sizable chunk of
The Inaran Imperium's
NEMEAN Metal stores, enchanted by the best mages of the Azure Spire alongside her titanic greatsword or her equally massive longsword and kite shield, all crafted by the finest smiths of the land from
NEMEAN Metal and enchanted just as well as her armor. Although she shirks the excessive use of wondrous items or 'trinkets' and sees them as an insult to herself by suggesting she requires them at all, when dressed in her full Panoply she is known to wear several 'trinket' magical items to augment her already overwhelming strength.
Mental characteristics
Born to the secluded and remote Klithos Tribe that once dwelled in absolute secrecy high in The World Spine Mountains, Mislith served her people as one of its few females during a time which saw her tribe - the last tribe of Rune Giants on the entire continent - slowly pushed further and further into the mountains to escape the ever-expanding
The Inaran Imperium. Her people, favoring secrecy over open warfare, had spent centuries and even millennia enduring in quiet solitude high in the mountains - enslaving the nearby Giant tribes to further their own civilization and dwelling among the ruins that dotted the mountain range.
Yet, her people could not hide forever - despite the claims of her tribe's elders - and Mislith knew this to be true, even from a young age as she was taught by her elders that, until the day came to enslave the surface races, their tribe must stay hidden to the exclusion of all else. Mislith, for her part, was raised to be the greatest warrior the Klithos Tribe had ever produced - a rare live birth(The first of its kind the tribe had had in generations) that heralded great change. Raised for slaughter above all else, Mislith surged to the forefront of her people as their foremost warrior and champion - a woman of immense cruelty whose enslavement of the lesser beings and destruction of the tribe's enemies gave her a reputation beyond compare.
However, when the armies of
The Inaran Imperium happened upon her tribe by pure happenstance and rapidly moved to exterminate them, Mislith was at the forefront of her people's war against the Imperium - one which, in its early stages, seemed unwinnable for
The Inaran Imperium as they faced an entire tribe of Rune Giants; each mighty enough to level mountains and skilled enough in the ways of Truenaming as to kill entire legions with simple recitations of their names. It was not, then, until
Tamamo-No-Mae herself took the field that the Rune Giants knew true despair - when Mislith, as their champion, faced
Tamamo-No-Mae upon the field of battle and was humbled so severely that, at the moment of her execution, Mislith became utterly enamored with the tiny
Kitsune who had defeated her so handily.
So enraptured was she, that Mislith, listening to her foe speak of the sins of her tribe and the ideals which she sought to accomplish, swore on the spot to serve
Tamamo-No-Mae unto her death as a loyal champion - a request which
Tamamo-No-Mae accepted after Mislith offered up her own tribe to her newfound lord as proof of her loyalty; most of whom mislith slaughtered herself in a rapturous fit of battle-lust.
Ever since, Mislith has stood at
Tamamo-No-Mae's side as a loyal champion through long centuries of rule - even watching with pride as her liege ascended into Major Godhood, leaving her behind to watch over her flock once she was gone. Now, as one of the sole remaining creatures who knew Tamamo personally before her ascension, Mislith is a powerful and notable figure in
The Inaran Imperium and stands as one of its mightiest defenders.
Mislith, unlike many of her own kind, avoids the pleasures of the flesh fairly ardently - preferring to live an austere lifestyle of professional detachment.
Though she received no true education, Mislith is likely the sole remaining bastion of the ancient knowledge of her people - as the rest of her tribe was exterminated long ago, at her own hand.
Fought
Tamamo-No-Mae before her ascension and, while she lost, managed to fight her on decently equal footing for a short while before ultimately losing in a Truenaming competition.
Served as the Imperator of
The Ninefold Tribunal for nearly 4 centuries straight, and has kept the faith together through countless trials and tribulations - including the ascension of
Tamamo-No-Mae into Major Godhood as
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator.
Personally and singlehandedly executed every single member of her tribe of Rune Giants to prove her loyalty to
Tamamo-No-Mae.
At her core, Mislith can best be described as an loyal knight serving in a world of backstabbing politics - having forsaken her people's ways of violence and brutality and enslavement, she now stands as a woman who is sharp, businesslike, and professional in her dealings. While capable of involving herself in politics, Mislith prefers to remain neutral in most matters of scheming and politicking - preferring instead to watch and wait patiently as others scheme around her until she can, at a critical moment, violently and brutally smash such plans apart at their most critical juncture for maximum efficacy.
At her core, she is patient, loyal, and prefers the "wait and see" approach in much of what she does - she enjoys all the trappings of law and order and believes in them with all her heart, and relishes the intellectual challenges managing large organizations such as
The Ninefold Tribunal or playing a good game of Kurosho can provide to her. Ironically, she is often quite quiet and prefers to let her physicality and raw intimidation factor keep others in line and often loathes getting involved in disciplinary matters or punishing others unless they have performed sins against her or her faith, in which case she delights in personally torturing them to set an example.
She is perhaps best described as a woman with two personalities - on one side, a cool and collected businesswoman who enjoys balancing spreadsheets and managing broad organizations, and the other a mighty and savage warrior who enjoys breaking free of the trappings of her office life to smash and crush her enemies upon the battlefield.
Mislith's morality is that of loyalty above all other things - she is a vehemently lawful and orderly woman, and as such will always attempt to uphold her vows and promises even unto her own death. She believes in abiding the rule of law and one's own moral code even when doing so would be detrimental do them, and often places the needs of her liege,
Tamamo-No-Mae, and the oaths she swore to that liege above her own wants and desires - enjoying a life lived in service to the greatest being she has ever known.
Overall, her morality is that of
efficiency - and while it is rarely efficient for her to personally involve herself in disciplinary matters or punishing others for their crimes or sins, when she is best suited for the task she takes to her work with a gleeful zeal. Ultimately, when in pursuit of a goal, she will stop at nothing to see it completed - no matter the cost it takes to achieve.
Personality Characteristics
Above all, MIslith considers herself utterly bound to the vows she once made to
Tamamo-No-Mae herself centuries ago - to protect her and her faithful, to spread her faith to the far corners of the world, and to serve her no matter the cost to Mislith's own body, mind, or soul.
Beyond these vows of loyalty and fealty which she considers sacred above all else, Mislith has a personal and vested interest in helping other monstrous creatures find a home within
The Inaran Imperium and within
The Ninefold Tribunal as a whole - as well as teaching them how to overcome their baser, monstrous natures to find a new home.
Finally, while she does consider it secondary to upholding her vows protect
The Ninefold Tribunal, Mislith does have a keen interest in protecting
The Inaran Imperium to ensure the legacy of her liege and sworn mistress
Tamamo-No-Mae is not tarnished.

Of all her virtues, the best known is her overwhelming loyalty to her liege
Tamamo-No-Mae, as well as her dedication to the tenets of her faith - a knight of unwavering loyalty to the woman who saved her life and delivered from her tribe, Mislith would give her life without a moment of hesitation if it meant protection
The Ninefold Tribunal, the faithful of
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator, or if it otherwise served her liege's goals or ideals.
Even beyond this loyalty, one of Mislith's greatest virtues is her unsurpassed strength - both of body and of character. Standing in stark contrast to the usual actions of her people and indeed most Giantkind, Mislith is an organized and fussy busybody to a fault - acting on her own desires last and placing the needs of her station and her duties above all other aspects of her life. Preferring neatness and well-organized environments, Mislith is a woman who avoids the pleasures of the flesh with the dedication of a monk - living a stoic and reserved life to foster discipline and strength of character. And, as one might expect, she is expectedly resilient as a result - nearly impossible to mentally sway or break or persuade from her current task, Mislith is a woman who is functionally immune to mental control, suggestion, or possession of any kind; and when one considers her own insane level of strength such that she could well match
Aslauge Daenic in combat in a pound-for-pound slugfest, they can begin to see just how far her "strength" truly goes.
Somewhat in contrast with the tenets of her deity
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator, Mislith is a relatively earnest and honest woman - though she is skilled in the art of politics and trickery, she rarely relies upon or engages in such things in favor of wielding her enormous power to force those around her to deal with her straight. A woman of her word, she will almost always obey a promise or vow she makes and rarely strays from her own personal code - making her a suitably lawful candidate to serve as a divine champion of
Tamamo-No-Mae.
One of the mightiest warriors in existence, Wise beyond measure, always willing to help others find their place in the world, charismatic and persuasive, intelligent and thoughtful tactician willing to sacrifice lives to achieve a goal.
For all her virtues, Mislith has her fair share of vices - above all else, she is legendarily egotistical to the point of arrogance; Seeing herself as a Goddess with all the same authority and respect due as
Tamamo-No-Mae herself, as the Goddess which Nislith herself stands as a divinely chosen champion of. Carrying herself as a Goddess with equal weight as Tamamo, Mislith utterly
demands to be treated accordingly - and is as a result often tended to by legions of attendants who care for her every need, refuses to be looked in the eye(As she considers doing so an insult), and is just as arrogant as one would expect a goddess to be - demanding a level of deference and obedience that many would consider humiliating.
Even besides her own arrogance, she is notoriously cruel in her enforcement of the law and order she treasures so much - and is rather famously creative in the tortures she enacts upon those who earn her ire, especially if they committed crimes against
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator or her church
The Ninefold Tribunal - offenses she considers some of the most heinous one could possibly commit.
Finally, though she does consider herself a protector of her liege and her church and even the country in which it stands, Mislith has always been a woman who favors the big picture over the minutia - a personality trait which means that she can rather heartlessly abandon thousands to death(Or even kill them herself) if it means protecting the organization as a whole. While not, in itself, a flaw, Mislith expects all who serve beneath her to abide this maxim - and expects them to die at her merest whim if she determines it is for the good of the organization she serves, or for
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator - the god which she obeys.
Mislith's greatest and rather notorious quirk is her immense hatred for being looked in the eye by those she speaks to unless she otherwise gives permission - an act which she considers a grave offense, tantamount to defiance against a goddess.
Although she avidly believes in order in all things, she cares little for hygiene or appearances when called to serve in battle or lead the faith into war. Conversely, she keeps a fastidiously clean appearance when doing priest or clerical work or anytime she is off the battlefield, and keeps her work office in Kitsunheim immaculately clean and tidy.
Social
Ever since she betrayed her tribe to swear fealty to
Tamamo-No-Mae, Mislith has enjoyed an utterly dauntless reign in her service - placed almost immediately in charge of her faith as Imperator of
The Ninefold Tribunal, Mislith has been challenged countless times over her centuries of service as head of the faith of
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator yet has ruthlessly squashed her competition each time and retained her position.
A figure of absolute, unassailable authority within the
The Inaran Imperium such that she was very nearly nominated for the seat of the first Empress of the Imperium when
Tamamo-No-Mae ascended into Major Godhood, Mislith was only kept from the seat of Empress by her own refusal to accept the role - preferring instead to remain in her role as Imperator of
The Ninefold Tribunal leading the faith of the woman she swore her loyalty to.
Dauntless, driven, and highly intelligent, Mislith's reign has kept
The Ninefold Tribunal firmly and securely united even during the chaos of
Tamamo-No-Mae's ascension into Major Godhood - keeping the massive organization together when they might have otherwise have collapsed and fallen apart without strong leadership.
Being the head of
The Ninefold Tribunal, the official church of
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator, she has connections and relations to every single member of the massive, continent-spanning organization which answers to her command and her command alone. In addition, as one of the sole surviving creatures of the "old kingdom" who once held the ear of
Tamamo-No-Mae as a close friend and confident before her ascension who now commands the loyalty of not only the Kyu-shin-maru, the elite and highly secretive militant arm of the Ninefold Tribunal which is responsible for bringing those who break the tenets of the faith back into line and hunting down and eliminating great enemies of the faith, but also the Shirokami(Former secret police of the "old kingdom" before the ascension of
Tamamo-No-Mae), Mislith commands
immense influence and political sway within the highest halls of
The Inaran Imperium.
Indeed, so massive is her influence that she has often butted heads with the current Emperor - who is not shy with his hatred of the fact that, to many citizens and nobles of the Imperium, Mislith herself is just as popular if not moreso than the Emperor(As she was the original candidate for the seat).
Though she was born to the reclusive and secretive Klithos Tribe of the legendary creatures known as
Rune Giants, one of the most powerful species of True Giants upon the entire planet of Ea, Mislith severed her family ties herself after she betrayed her tribe and swore allegience to
Tamamo-No-Mae centuries ago - executing her former tribe down to its very last child as proof of her loyalty for which she was rewarded with the new family name of "Nirrus" by Tamamo herself.
As such, she no longer possesses any family ties to speak of.
She is a zealous follower of
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Kitsune Queen, and was not only one of her goddess's closest friends but is also the Imperator and Leader of her church,
The Ninefold Tribunal.
Her faith is said to be as unbreakable as adamantine and her loyalty as unwavering as the rising sun.
Though not charismatic in the traditional sense, Mislith's social aptitute is best describe in two words: Intimidating and powerful. As a being of such overwhelming power that even Demigods would have a difficult time defeating her in single combat, Mislith has no need for and does not miss her lack of traditional charisma - for she rules and convinces others with the raw terror and fear she inspires with her mannerisms, physicality, and behavior. Enormous, physically muscular, and utterly ruthless, Mislith bends those around her into compliance with raw presence alone - she possesses little in the way of true charisma, and so instead relies upon her ruthless adherence to the rule of law, the threat of physical violence, and her authority alone to project her power.
This is not to say she lacks social graces - indeed, she was trained in the ways of high society by
Tamamo-No-Mae herself - just that she lacks a true ability to persuade and convince others in a charismatic way. This lack of social aptitude, however, is considered by many underneath her to a be a plus - as many who have lived and worked their entire lives within
The Inaran Imperium find her brutal honesty and terror-inducing threats of physical violence oddly refreshing and direct in a land so mired by power politics, as they find knowing exactly what to expect with her rather refreshing.
However, as one of the chosen envoys of
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator's divine will on the material plane, one should not underestimate Mislith's cunning or ability to play a room - for while she may not be exactly charismatic, she has an uncanny awareness of the ploys and politics unfolding around her and has on more than one occasion shattered the plots of her subordinates or her enemies in a brutal and surgical application of overwhelming violence. This nature has made her incomparable arrogant, however - seeing her own will as synonymous with the will of
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator, she expects and
demands the same deference and obedience as one would give to a god when they are in her presence. To those who refuse to abide her this, she often punishes them in some way in order to enforce and uphold the strict social contract expected of all members of the Kitsune Queen's Faith.
Finally, while not an especially charismatic leader, her bottomless zeal and passion makes her an oddly inspirational public speak so long as she speaks on the topics of religion, overcoming one's nature as a 'monster', and any topic directly related to the faith of
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Dominator.
In every way imaginable, Mislith carries herself with all the regal dominance of a Goddess - utterly self-assured to the point of arrogance, she brooks no doubts or insults to her authority and demands obedience from all others to such a degree that others are expected to prostrate themselves in her presence until she bids them rise.
When speaking to others in a professional capacity, she is businesslike and matter-of-fact - to a degree that often surprises those who interact with her, as her "office persona" is a far cry from the savagery of how she acts upon the battlefield.
While on the battlefield, however, she is an utter monster for whom no brutality or act is too far or taboo if it means securing victory.
Mislith keeps no pets, but she is well-known to be an incredibly skilled player of Kurosho, the incredibly complex and tactical game traditionally played by her people the Rune Giants. Aside from this legendarily complex and involved game of strategy, she enjoys any other game of mental stimulation and tactical thought - especially ones played on game boards such as Chess when she has the free time to do so.
As one of the legendary and increasingly rare Rune Giants, Mislith's voice is powerful - in every way imaginable. When she speaks, her emotions resonate in a very literal way in the hearts and minds of those she is speaking to and those around her - as her people have a natural talent of Truenamers, their voices are infamously powerful.
In more mundane ways, her voice is husky, deep, and rather cool and neutral - and when combined with her fairly masculine appearance and dress, can often allow her to be mistaken for a man by those unfamiliar with her.

Goddess, Queen, and Close Friend (Vital)
History
Chosen and uplifted by Tamamo centuries ago, Mislith was once a Rune Giant Matron who led her tribe into conquest of various portions of The Ursidae Dynasties, slowly and insidiously conquering village and city both until they were finally stopped in a notoriously bloody war which saw Mislith turn on her own tribe after Tamamo herself descended to persuade her of the error of her tribe's ways.
So persuaded, Mislith abandoned her people and saw them for what they were, embracing the truth of her new savior as she took up the mantle of Herald to her new Goddess...and in time, the two would become close friends as Mislith would rise entirely of her own enormous merit to become the Imperator and Leader of Tamamo's church, the Ninefold Tribunal. They are both close friends as two unfathomably powerful beings who almost nothing in common with most life, and Mislith serves her Tamamo faithfully and with loyalty, crushing the enemies of her faith and assisting her followers wherever she goes as she leads The Tribunal with a brutal but orderly hand in service to the being she now sees as the epitome of what her people once strove to be: Brutal Warlords with an absolute vice grip on all lesser races.
Mislith is one of the few people allowed free access to Tamamo's Citadel in Kitsune to converse with the Goddess herself, and is known to receive her orders and commands from her and her alone.

Despite her incredibly prestigious position, Mislith seemingly cares little for personal wealth and lives a relatively sparse life compared to other members of
Tamamo's faith - though the one exception to this relatively sparse lifestyle being her own personal armory and equipment.
A warrior down to her very bones, Mislith is outfitted with only the best artifacts, weapons, armor, and magical items available to
The Ninefold Tribunal - wielding and possessing all manner of powerful magical arms, armor and items taken from the church's fallen foes, from her own enemies, from that which was looted from her own tribe of mighty rune giants, and that which was built in her honor by the best smiths in the entire
Inaran Imperium, and though she espouses monetary wealth and lives a sparse life she cares much more for practical uses of wealth, such as her arms, armor, items, and often ends up spending her personal wealth on those very things.
