Archmagos Dominus Lucius Galdrikson (a.k.a. The Lord Ascendant)
Physical Description
Lucius is a perfectly healthy human male, and while it is unknown how, he long ago halted his aging process through an arcane ritual. He has no diseases or infections and is in great physical shape which puts him on the level of a warrior's physique.
His skin is white, his hair is black, and he is a broad-shouldered man who most would not automatically assume to be a mage at first look. Despite his powerful frame he has an air of forgettableness about him, and looks overly average.
His face carries the powerful and regal jawlines and structure of
High Humanity, and he carries a striking familial resemblance to
Barkhan the Eternal, even moreso than most others expect. His eyes are a powerful green, and his hair is short and tousled.
His green eyes and mop-headed hair are his most distinct features, as he has an otherwise unremarkable body.
He is a ridiculously powerful mage said to be on par with his father,
Barkhan the Eternal. He has access to all levels of Arcane Spellcraft and is rumored to have joined his father in breaking into a higher level of magecraft.
Lucius often forgoes expensive baubles and signs of wealth, and wears simple robes with a hood with perhaps some armor beneath them.
He always carries a tall oaken magical staff that shows clear signs of being merged with the technology of
High Humanity.
Mental characteristics
Lucius's personal history is mostly unknown to the world at large, though scholars of
The Eastern Imperium will often write about how it is heavily believed that Lucius is so old he has been around since before the forming of
The Eastern Imperium itself, and was in fact friends with the tyrant
Tamamo-No-Mae before she became a tyrant at all...when she was but a simple girl living in her village back before she united the east.
His history is otherwise mostly unknown, aside from sparse accounts of him participating in The Unification War and Tamamo's unification and establishment of
The Eastern Imperium...afterwards, he was known to squabble with his father on several occasions as his father would visit Kitsunheim to visit and torment
Tamamo-No-Mae. One of these times was unlike the other, and though what happened inside Tamamo's Citadel was unknown, it resulted in Lucius tossing his father's broken corpse off the Citadel's highest point, mounting it above the palace for all to see as he declared his allegiance to Tamamo and to her country forever and always. Afterwards, he joined her as her Archmage and became the Lord Ascendant of
The Azure Spire.
He has never taken a wife or lover, so his sexuality is unknown.
Lucius's education was unknown, and he was assumed to be self-taught.
He has not been known to fail during his tenure in the east in any significant way, though he also keeps out of the public eye...so he may have simply hidden them.
Lucius believes in law and order above all else, and striking a balance between good and evil. Law and Order exist to be followed absolutely, and he has several times expressed his disdain for those who seek to rebel or enact chaotic or unlawful change...he likewise believes magic exists to be used irregardless of morality, and is a tool above all else.
Personality Characteristics
Lucius is constantly driven to further the goals of
The Eastern Imperium, the cause of Arcane Magic and Lore, and to protect
Tamamo-No-Mae and all of his brothers and sisters. He also is deeply driven by a personal desire to eradicate ignorance in the world, and wishes to bring the light of education that the
The Azure Spire and
Ninetail Academy represents to all corners of the world.
More than anything, he is driven by a desire to create a world where his little brothers and sisters can exist in without fear, without threat of death, and where they can live a normal life.
Much like
his father, he is an extraordinarily talented mage, and has long since surpassed the boundary of mortal magecraft. He is a wonderfully talented scholar, teacher, and brother, and he is also a legendarily talented tactician and "behind the scenes" leader, capable of managing large scale organizations so long as he is allowed to do so out of the public eye.
He absolute despises and is terrible at speaking to strangers or in public, and he dislikes being in the public eye in general. He is not a humble man, and carries an arrogance that makes it impossible for him to be humble at all.
Likes Arcane Magic, Arcane Secrets, Knowledge,
Tamamo-No-Mae and all of her children,
The Eastern Imperium, Law, Order, Teaching others, and further the cause of Magic
Dislikes
Barkhan the Eternal,
The Venau Necrocracy, Undead, Chaos, Those who believe magic exists to be used for a specific alignment or cause(Good or evil), Ignorance, Stupidity, Public Speaking
Incredibly smart, driven, and caring to those he knows and to his family. He is patient when required to be, and is a talented and excellent teacher. Is also incredibly talented at magecraft and all scholarly pursuits.
Prideful and Arrogant, Cannot tolerate ignorance or stupidity, Refuses to exist in the public eye or speak to crowds, Almost lacks sympathy or empathy entirely for those who break the law or upset the order of things
He keeps a fastidious appearance, to the point where most assume he is obsessive over such things. He often fusses over keeping an immaculate appearance and hates bad hygiene.
Social
Lucius has contacts all over
The Eastern Imperium, the foremost of which being
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Kitsune Queen herself. As her adopted son, he has an incredibly close relationship with her and all of her children, including two of her daughters he has become a Big Brother for recently. He is the lord of the entire
The Azure Spire and thus not only controls the entire organization but is well-known for knowing almost every member of the Spire's names by heart...his contacts and relations extend all across
The Eastern Imperium, and given his Arcane Power there are few who he could not reach if he does not know them already.
Lucius was once believed to be the firstborn son of
Barkhan the Eternal, Lich-King of
The Venau Necrocracy, but he has long since made clear his opinion on his father. Having abandoned his father and disavowed any relation to him, Lucius now embraces only his adoptive mother,
Tamamo-No-Mae, who for reasons unknown took him on as her adoptive son centuries ago...he now is one of her most trusted children and closest friends, and he spends a large amount of time in her citadel...he also has extraordinarily good relations with each of
Tamamo-No-Mae's children, who view him as their eldest brother.
Lucius has never quite made his religious views public, so it is unclear if he truly worships his mother or if he has other ideas about religion. Many who know
Barkhan the Eternal think he may profess faith to no gods, but nothing has ever been confirmed.
Lucius is an notoriously reclusive and solitary man, and almost never makes appearances in public. He seems to prefer avoiding social contact where possible, and actively avoids large crows where he can. If he must, he is capable of speaking before large crowds, but is fairly blunt and straightforward, rarely caring for the emotions of anyone listening.

History
Though many speculate Lucius may have known Tamamo since even before The Unification War, all that is known for sure is their relationship now, which is seemingly nothing more than a son who is grateful he has finally found a home and a family who he doesn't despise. He cares for his mother and his adoptive siblings, and likewise they have grown to care for their eldest brother in turn.
He has an incredibly close relationship with his mother, one closer and more special than any other relationship his mother has with anyone, even her own children...though in what ways, none can say.

History
Born to the legendary Lich-King Barkhan the Eternal in ways that will never be truly explained, Lucius is commonly believed to be the first and eldest son of his father, borne in a time before The Venau Necrocracy and even before the current age...and just as both are ancient, incredibly powerful mages, they both have a more tumultuous relationship with each other than most other families can claim.
Lucius despises his father, and actively has on multiple occasions made clear a desire to destroy him...while his father on the other hand, while he has never truly commented on his son, has never truly taken hostile action against him, and might even still care for him.
As the Archmage of
Tamamo-No-Mae, The Kitsune Queen and head mage of both
The Azure Spire and
The Eastern Imperium, Lucius has amassed an amount of wealth over his centuries and most likely millennia of life that few can fathom. He has wealth likely beyond mortal imagination, and his time serving the
The Eastern Imperium and only deepened his pockets and personal vault...as a mage, however, most of this wealth goes back into his Arcane Research and into funding the various organizations he is a part of. Whether it be his Noble House,
The Azure Spire, or
Ninetail Academy, he has more than enough to keep his overwhelming wealth occupied.
