Queen Fioralba
Fioralba dolo Cando is the thirty-first monarch of the Kingdom of Litticala. She ascended the Calan throne upon her father's death in 496 GE, at the age of 24. She has faced occasional criticism during her reign from those who believe she devotes too much of her time to religion. She is sometimes referred to as "Fioralba the Pious".
Early Life
Fioralba was born on 1 Dust Moon, 472 GE during the reign of her father, King Arrats dolo Cando. Her mother, Queen Imelda, was the eldest daughter of the noble Rosafusta house. She was named in honor of the dawn, when Maresol and Pareluna are said to meet briefly in their daily journeys across the heavens. Called "Fiora" by her closest family members, the princess was known for her serious, but charming demeanor from a young age. Fioralba's only sibling, Prince Vespasiano, was born in 475 GE. The two were educated in the palace by a combination of Celestialist priests and Temporalist scholars, following the precedent set by King Nicolau III. From a young age, Fioralba immersed herself in Celestialist thought, and devoted her free time to worship and prayer. She attended all four daily worship services at the Palace District temple, and strictly observed the Lunar Sabbath. Her father encouraged her devotion and arranged for additional instruction in Celestialist scripture. At eighteen, Fioralba was betrothed to Goffredo dolo Sorro, the eldest son of a Coromaran noble house with ties to the Celestialist priesthood. They were married at the grand Celestial Temple in Godswalk shortly after Fioralba came of age in 493 GE. In a rare gesture of generosity, King Arrats declared a public holiday on the day of the wedding feast, and ordered that tables be set out throughout the city for every Coromaran to celebrate his daughter's marriage. Fioralba gave birth to her first child, Princess Lucia in 493 GE.Reign
King Arrats died of a sudden heart attack in 496 GE, pulling a young Fioralba away from her family and her religious devotions to lead the Kingdom. Many worried for the health of the Princess during the mourning period, as she was heavily pregnant with her second child at the time. Despite public fears, Fioralba sat long overnight vigils for her father during the Lunar Sabbath without complications. Her coronation was held on 3 Gold Moon, 496 GE. She gave birth to her second child, Prince Eliodoro, a week later.Mental characteristics
