Nesidth

The goddess of order who rules the heavens with iron fangs, Nesidth is the most renowned and infamous of gods today. She is the goddess who begat both epochs, conquered the mortal lands, slew and conscripted more than a dozen other deities, purged the Seven Hells, and restored the sun from the 19 year Umbral Ice Age. Her wild rise to power has given her a wide variety of domains for her followers to draw from. She has incredible power, but the acts of the Second Epoch to punish mortals did not gain her many followers except those praying out of fear. She has a skewed favoritism for women and blesses murderous vampires which both garner criticism outside of her faithful as well as within, yet while some find her deplorable Nesidth is known wanting to bring order to a chaotic world, bestowing mercy on those who beg for it, and creating the most peaceful and stable government in the known world. She is often seen as directly opposed to, or dominant over, Yamimaw.   Her religion is growing in power since the end of the Umbral Ice Age when Saint Quinniel spread words of her virtuous miracle and the covenant made to keep back the eternal darkness. The largest amount of Nesidth's acolytes come from the Sun Elvs' home in Aurgwyn Vale and people attending pantheon temples in Nalchaa. Followers of the revived deities submissive to Nesidth, including Izanami, Titania, and Kagutsuchi, must Nesidth's sigil, The Violet Diamond, above that of their own god.

In The Old Age

Once, before the start of time as we know it, Nesidth was a mortal from Albion called Urthemiel McBain who crossed the Owatsumi Sea to Nalchaa hoping to find a land of peace, where people were equal and men were not ruining all for the sake of war. She found both continents were the same, war-torn, sickly, oppressed by brutal men, and full of scared people trying to get by. There she formed friendships with many great warriors that legends say included ninja, vampires, and even a dragon. With these allies she sought to bring chaos to an end and unite the many small fiefdoms and states as one, to make a utopian empire "unrecognizable in its perfection." The group began a war that would tear across the continent and unite everyone by flag or by death, to bring all the crowns of men together as one create peace in the world. As their numbers swelled they received word that war erupted in Albion as well and as the fighting climaxed they split their forces, sending 5 of their greatest warriors across the sea. The unification army allied with the LeCart royals to conquer all lands at once, in exchange the LeCarts would be Albion's regents under the new empress across the sea & their princess would stay in Nalchaa.     On this long journey Urthemiel drowned in horror, she saw her friends die, became separated from her closest companions, was forced to slay her former wife, and went to the temple of Izanami outcast, alone, and broken and prayed for help. After a day of desperate praying Izanami appeared before Urthemiel and saw great potential for a new ally in the wounded maiden. The goddess named the blood-soaked conqueror as her prophetess and gifted her the power of black flame, flame without light or heat that incinerated her foes in unholy power. She was renewed of spirit and entranced by the ancient goddess's appearance and she returned to her people with tidings of the god at their back. She regularly visited the shrines of Izanami and the two women became closer than master and student. Then with autumn the conquering forces reunited and set course for the great Kingdom of Bizen where they would make their final push and unite the lands. Sacrificing much in their final conflict the unifiers established the Nalchaa Empire where Urthemiel crowned herself empress with the power bestowed by her goddess to rule in peace with her allies for the next year.   On the anniversary of the empress's coronation the skies turned red and the body of the war god Susanoh fell from the heavens to the city square. All panicked and tried to flee except the empress and her closest generals whom she'd told to expect something like this, but even they had not foreseen this. Urthemiel went to the great fountain upon whish Susanoh had fallen and she drank the red water within then she raised her head and saw only her closest ally, a woman called Kagura, had seen, but she said nothing. Urthemiel suppressed all her powers and saintly auras and walked, quietly and alone, to the great Pantheon Temple where gods clamored within. Izanami had long schemed to be rid of her rival Amateratsu and had endorsed the notion of imperial peace to weaken Susanoh, the sun goddess's brother & protector. Slain by the black sword of death he could no longer stand in the way and Izanami summoned Amateratsu into the temple, now dedicated on the death goddess, as she tried to teleport to her brother's side.   The Empress saw her patron fixated on the wounded sun goddess and used all the powers of herself and Susanoh to land one horrid blow. She drank deep of the divine blood before turning her blade on Amateratsu as well, and with the powers of three gods brewing within her she wrapped herself in a leathery cocoon for three days and four nights as the sun hung blackened and her five generals watched over her. On the Fourth morning the cocoon split open and a new goddess, reborn, remade, and healed came out. She spoke into the minds of all her followers and named herself Nesidth, the goddess of Order, and launched the First Epoch.         Bonus: Vampiric affinity
