Lightborn

Truly on the opposite end of the spectrum in every way are the lightborn, being touched by holy magic at birth. Lightborn children are considered gifts or blessings upon their families and even communities. Many of the noble houses of the Silverspire Empire contain lightborn lineages and it is not unheard of to designate an inheritance to pass over a first born child in favor of a lightborn younger sibling. Like all magicborn they have innate magical abilities, the most common of which is often an ability to heal themselves or others, another extremely desirable trait in a community. Prescience also seems to be more common among Lightborn, pushing some to become chronomancers and Chroniclers. They can be distinguished by their unusual hair, often displaying as strands of light blue, pink, green, or gold. But their standout physical features are their eyes, which emit a soft glow and can intensify when their emotions flare. They can sometimes have freckles or other skin discolorations that will similarly glow, leading to a trend of tattooing and scarification to amplify the effect. Lightborn are more or less seamlessly woven into their respective societies, especially with humans and elves, and so lack any real cultural hallmarks which they would all seem to share.
