State of Emergency

Kriv stood tall on the dais with crimson wings extended to bring everyone to attention. Once the noise had settled he tucked them behind his back and addressed the room. "I am declaring a state of emergency in Khorvaire ." His lieutenants started whispering amongst each other and Kriv stomped his claws bring their focus back. "Yes, I know we dealt with an emergency merely five years ago. Yes, I know this frequency is unprecedented. No, we don't know how this will affect The Prophecy yet. With those out of the way let's get down to the details of what we know.
"Our primary targets are a group of humanoids known as Almiraj Squad. Previously they worked for the King's Citadel in Breland but they have gone rogue. The group consists of a gnome named Felryn Nucklestamp, a Dhakaani hobgoblin named Belaluur , an elf named Emilie , and a tiefling named Blessing. There is also a half-elf named Adran who is reported to be dead. You've likely heard of the first two, they are the supposed 'prophets'", Kriv held up two digits on his right claw to denote the quotes around prophets, "who were involved in the history alteration we have been investigating. And yes, Belaluur is a Dhakanni of old. She recently awakened from a petrified sleep when the rest of Almiraj Squad discovered the vault she was stored in. We have detailed dossiers on all members of the squad for you to read on your own.
"As you know, Nebikarn was put on alert to apprehend them as soon as possible. He reported that Almiraj Squad was sighted in Starilaskur and went to interrogate them. Nebikarn met with Almiraj Squad and had done part of a debriefing when Felryn insisted he show Nebikarn something important on their airship. Nebikarn went with them to the ship and shortly afterward it flew away. We have had no contact with Nebikarn since then and divination spells cannot contact him or confirm his location. We must assume he is either dead or captured using more powerful magic than these humanoids should be able to possess. Either of which is alarming.
"Shortly after Nebikarn's disappearance our sources in The Trust passed along the contents of a journal by one of their informants, Cockaby Rofferton. Cockaby died in the the Mourning but was resurrected by Almiraj Squad and travelled with them for several months through the Mournland. From this journal we know that Almiraj Squad altered history through a time rift in the Mournland. They then travelled to Eston where they allied with the Lord of Blades aka Bulwark, King Boranel's former bodyguard and helped his warforged claim Eston. They also have Aaren d'Cannith there, the 'father' of the warforged. Their intent is to create their own nation among the Mournland and continue the propagation of the warforged 'species.'"
A gasp of horror rose from his lieutenants. Kriv did not blame them, he felt sick when he learned that the warforged were becoming self-sufficient. Once they had calmed down again Kriv continued, "Rofferton's journal ends with Almiraj Squad capturing two of the commandos who planted the Cataclysm Machines and planning to search for the devices. "Now, our plan of action. The warforged situation in Eston is not an immediate threat and we will not take drastic action until we have studied The Prophecy in detail and decided how to proceed. Almiraj Squad it another matter. They know too much, have demonstrated power far beyond the primitive races' capabilities, and thus are a clear and present danger. We will focus our efforts on capturing or eliminating them. Obviously we would prefer capture until we know how they are tied into The Prophecy but if the choice is between killing them or letting them continue their reign of chaos we authorize immediate termination.
"You have your mission, everyone get to work." Kriv dismissed the room with a wave of his wings and the other dragons flew into the sky.
