Hazlan

Hazlan, a land of stark division and simmering tension, is characterized by its stark contrast between the ruling Mulan and the subjugated Rashemani. Despite comprising only a small fraction of the population, the Mulan hold absolute control over every aspect of society, while the Rashemani are relegated to a life of oppression and deprivation, denied even the most basic freedoms.   The Mulan, as nobles of Hazlan, indulge in a lifestyle of decadence and privilege, distinguished by their distinctive practices of shaving off all body hair and adorning themselves with intricate tattoos. These customs serve as symbols of their status and superiority, contrasting sharply with the strict prohibitions imposed upon the Rashemani, who are forbidden from partaking in such luxuries.   Both Mulan and Rashemani harbor deep-seated animosity towards outsiders, viewing themselves as inherently superior and treating visitors with hostility and disdain. Their unwelcoming demeanor has earned Hazlan a reputation as a challenging and inhospitable land for outsiders to navigate.   Central to the dynamics of power in Hazlan is Hazlik, the Red Wizard, whose formidable magical abilities and iron-fisted rule dictate the course of the land. Formerly hostile to magic, Hazlik reversed his decree following the Grand Conjunction , actively encouraging the pursuit of magical power among the populace. This shift in policy has led to the establishment of an academy dedicated to the teaching of magic, signaling a significant departure from the land's previous stance.   Despite Hazlik's efforts to harness magical potential and bolster his own power, Hazlan remains a treacherous and perilous land, steeped in ancient mysteries and deadly artifacts hidden beneath its surface. Hazlik's relentless pursuit of power drives him to constantly experiment and seek out new sources of magical energy, ensuring that Hazlan remains a realm fraught with danger and intrigue.
