Torn Pages
Torn Pages, is the library of Rekadomoy, run by Bogumir the Scribe. The building is one of the taller ones in Rekadomoy, standing three stories high, though remains rather cramped on the inside, around 30 x 20 foot. The first floor is where most of the books and various writings can be found. Out the back is an open verandah, which is used as a rudimentary classroom where teaching can occur. A spiral staircase leads up the second floor, holding an area for sleeping, food preparation and waste disposal. The third floor is a study, holding a few magic scrolls, and basic wondrous items. The entrance to the third floor has a small trapdoor, looking much like the rest of the ceiling above.
Purpose / Function
Maintain and write the history of the Nyirdokolia Tribe. Educate the future generations of Nyirdokolia regarding the tribes history and teaching them to both read and write.
Alterations
As the population of the area increased, Bogumir had the rear area of the building expanded to allow him to educate the younger citizens on how to read. As Bogumir grew older, he converted the attic area into a study.
Architecture
Thatch roofing, with well treated timber for the walls. The first storey looks rather straightforward, looking like much of the other buildings seen in Rekadomoy.
History
The building started out far smaller than it stands today. Initially it was a more spacious, single story dwelling used by Bogumirs family. After the death of his family and partial destruction of the house prior to the childhood agreement, there was little need for the house to be returned to its former size, and he instead converted it into the three storey building seen today. Around 1455, Bogumir had the third storey altered to act as a study.
Tourism
Torn Pages is really only frequented by other members of the Bulrilg Confederation interested in the history of the region. The Redkostve Hunters are also common visitors, looking for information and lore on the lesser known monsters of the world.
