Hidalgo
Hidalgo serves as the largest town in Carestalan. Though it is not technically a "capital city" as one may expect of other nations, it is the largest settlement of Carestalan, and hosts the country's only formalised government.

Government
Hidalgo is ruled by a council known as The Clowder. They oversee eveything within the town, and vote on laws, etc.
Industry & Trade
The Leonin have created a system of bartering and favours when it comes to trade, and as such, do not have any currency. The "wealthier" folk of Hidalgo are those who have accumulated much in the way of favours, which often includes labour. If one desires a large home for example, they can either build it themselves or accumulate enough hours from a skilled builder to do the job for them.
Many merchants will also extend a line of credit to patrons, which is not too disimilar to favours. Acquiring things on "credit" is much less desirable however, as the merchant is often allowed to decide the payment at a later date, which may somewhat outweigh the goods being purchased.
Assets
Hidalgo has a large number of goats, which they use for milk production. Milk and cream are very popular in Hidalgo, and are regularly used in meals and beverages.
Hidalgo keeps a number of small dinosaurs that are raised in captivity. These include 'raptors' which they use for racing and fast transportation, as well as other larger beasts of burden.

History
Hidalgo is made up entirely of Leonin, a race of proud lion-folk who live a civilised and noble lifestyle. The Leonin of Hidalgo are mostly merchants, nobles, skilled workers and warriors. They strive to distance themselves from their tribal cousins, the Tabaxi, as much as possible. Through the introduction of proper infrastructure, craftsmanship and the intelligence needed to implement such things, the Leonin have managed to create a thriving town in the middle of an otherwise harsh landscape.
The Leonin of Hidalgo often view themselves as superior to other races for their intellect and physical strength. Although it is accepted that they were once one race of Catfolk along with their Tabaxi cousins, they now see the smaller Tabaxi as uncivilised barbarians - not to be dealt with or trusted.
The Leonin built Hidalgo in roughly 1620 KCB, giving it a name that generally translated to "civilised". They believed that living in the jungles amongst nature and the dangers it posed was not what the gods intended for them. They built a wall around their town to keep out the large lizards and other beasts that roamed the land, and learnt how to cultivate the land - no longer relying on the natural resources they once had to hunt for.
Since then, Hidalgo has thrived and become a fully-functioning settlement. They enjoy a relatively peaceful life, aside from the battles many choose to take part in at Battala or out hunting the beasts of the land.
Many Hidalgans earn an honest living, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life as one might expect to find anywhere else. Watching or partaking in honourable battle in Battala is one of the town's most popular activities. Interestingly, the Leonin quite enjoy music, though do not sing.
