Goliaths

The Solider race of Aegis, brought to Eldridth from the Outer Plane of Ysgard to protect the world against the Wrath of Shadowfell. When they first arrived, they were battle hardened heroes from this plane of endless war, with skills uncomparable to any in our world. This was many thousands of years ago, and with the normal lives of mortals in our realm, Goliath's only have there strong military traditions and upbringing. That and their size of course.

They mostly live in mountains, but can venture out when guided by there honor or Divine inspiration. There rite of passage is often being sent alone to find a heroic deed to prove there honor, and gain the favor of Aegis. Some do not find these deed for many years, others find only death in there attempt. Regardless, finding a Goliath troop means meeting up with battle hardened warriors, and a handful of Goliaths can be of more value then a whole legion of most. Their loyalty cannot be bought, and to question there honor is to invite death upon yourself.

Considered to be Medium creatures, but at the top end of medium, these almost giants are Large mostly blue skinned beings. They live their lives in Worship of Aegis, readying themselves to be chosen into His army in the plane of Acheon. To them life is a chance to train and prove themselves for a afterlife of endless battle.

Some Goliath have settled into the lands of others. Usually outcasts seeking to redeem themselves in the eyes of there Gods. They will not take a family in this setting, though it is possible a few have fully disavowed this limitation, but it is unlikely to encounter such a family unit of Goliaths.
