Zoni
This city is a wonder, especially to those outside of it. Within its center, grows an enormous tree, one of a few World Tree's that exist in the universe. The tree's roots grow in and out of ground at random through the rural lands of the walled community. In fact, close inspection of the the outer wall, would reveal that much of it is grown directly from the ground, enormous root, with stone walls connecting the gaps. Much of the tree still has the evidence of being charred and broken, but new growth has over taken the tree, and where it was once broken, new life springs forth on it en-mass.
It is a layered civilization unto itself. Each layer strives to be self sufficient, thought trades with the other layers.
The city is ruled over by the Marshal Asim Kamal. Each Marshal of Zoni swears an oath to protect the World Tree Imran with every choice and decision. His forces are mostly housed within Upon the Wall, and use crop's grown from the edges of the roots to grow basic crops. They protect the landscape within the wall, via rigorous searches and Interviews upon entry through the gatehouses of the wall.
The Farmlands grow allot of food. While the name may spark images of wide open land, much of it is closely knit buildings with small fields drifting between, with massive roots emerging and diving back into the ground in another area. The land is saturated with the world tree's nutrients. Plants that take root here, grow fast, large and healthy. The Farmers of The Farmlands take advantage of this, and even with the massive population, Zoni remains the largest exporter of food in the entitreity of Aygess.
The Urban Zone, which begins as the buildings become closer and closer toward the inside, until the fields have vanished, even the roots are rare at this point. The buildings begin building taller. The people here are primarialy manufactures, they put goods together, and make goods, or provide general services. At the cities very core, within a walled and protected circle refered to as Utopia, which encircles an area that encircles the World Tree's trunk. These people are essentially the ruling class of the city. This is where the Marshal Asim resides, and the community around him is his family, those closest to him, and then a planned community designed around caring for the grounds surrounding the tree, and ensuring the Marshal and his families every need is met. While Marshal Asim rules the City, he abdicates much of that power to locally appointed Speakers, who swear loyalty to Asim. The Marshal declares his successor, and retires upon the age of 50, residing with honor within Utopia. The new Marshal drops all but a single word from their previous name, and takes on the title Marshal Asim. The previous Marshal takes on the title Adnan. The eldest living Adnan, is called Ashar instead. Transit between the different rings of Zoni is heavily monitored and controlled. Only those with proper passes are allowed to move within the outer wall or to the urban area. Utopia has a fully restricted passage, allowing only those who reside within to pass through those walls, and most never do. Only particularly high ranking military members gain the right to enter Utopia. There are also times that children are selected to join Utopia. The parents can refuse, but this rarely occurs, as it is certainly a better life. The child is taken often as toddler, and raised within. In rare cases people are cast out of Utopia, they are normally ousted from the city as a whole, never allowed entry again.
