Grand Council of Bugtussle
A city of true Chaotic Good, the leaders of this City are elected regularly, and they are elected by how happy the people can be around them. The city is in a state of constant celebration. Regular fairs, feasts, and parades fill the calendar, and the people are free to seek what makes them happy, provided they do not encroach on the happiness of others.
The Freedom of Bugtussle has long attracted those seeking to learn magic, also its proximity to the fae touched lines in the Othaya River Valley adds to that attraction. It is the large presence of magic users that ensure the safety of the people of Bugtussle, as most other nations fear what Magic they could unleash in a fight, and do not wish to awaken that kind of wrath.
The Grand Council is filled with elected represenatives, mostly merchants and sometimes even entertainers. The Grand Council votes on a new leader each year, no leader may lead the Council for more then 2 years, and must wait 5 more years before being elected again. Often those who campaign for the position are overlooked, seeking instead someone able to preform the job, that is well liked, by both the council and the people. Sometimes politics manages to seep into these proceedings, but for the most part the people serve there own needs, which because they are often in the same circumstances as the common person serves the basic interests of the city.
Sometimes a Scholar who can point to some dire cause, can unite the Council to action, which has historically been a swift transformation from the party bound nature of the city, to a focused team with a singular purpose in mind.
